- Local - Long Distance - Airline Cabin For a temporary container only for transporting your new puppy home in a vehicle, a large box like a TV shipping container, really solid or a very large plastic storage box will work well. Try to find a box or container what will fit snug in a seat, with the front resting against the dash or the back of the front seat. Therefore, if you have to hit your brakes hard the pup will not be dumped. This should be a very temporary home for the puppy overnight maximum, until you decided how you want to confine him/her when you are sleeping or away from home. If you are hand-carrying the pup in the cabin of an airplane, the soft-sided carrier airline approved carrier is wonderful. The puppy must be placed under the seat of the person in front of you during 'take off' and 'landing' but otherwise the carrier can be held in your lap so that you can unzip the top and comfort the "baby" on the flight. We suggest using either a kiddy gate to confine it to a small area of your home or a crate. If you decide to Crate Train, please go to this link for my recommendations Click Here Take with youWhen you go to pick up your English Bulldog Puppy, be sure to take along:-Baby Wipes or a couple of wet bath cloths in a ziplock bag -Tissues -Supply of food and distilled water -Newspaper or some other disposable liner the container -Plastic Grocery Bags for soiled liners, tie off to contain the odor. -Baby Pacifier (recommend at least offered a 'Pacie') -Food and water temporary dishes or container -Old soft t-shirts for a bed -Small Stuffed animal -20 oz drink bottle, fill with hot water, put in a thick sock Baby Blanket/Doggie Sweater - Cold Winter WeatherFor the first couple of weeks, we recommend you use a baby blanket to cover the pup, including the head, when taking he/she from the house to the car etc. if it is real cold At 7-8 weeks of age, they are much too young to be exposed to the winter elements. Wait a couple of week to start their potty training and then use the sweater whenever they go outside doing so makes them too hot.Information presented here is strictly my opinion based upon research and/or 50 years experience at rescuing animals of all sorts.
