Puppy Gal's Recommendations

Puppies love baby rattlers, stuffed toys (nothing to pull off and swallow) and teething rings. Watch for them at a garage sale and buy lots, all different sizes. Rattlers, teething rings and hard plastic toys can be put in the dishwasher to sanitize. Get only washable stuffed toys which you can put in the washing machine with a little bleach to kill what germs they might contain. Be sure to get a washable stuffed toy which is big enough for your new puppy to lay on It is use to using it's siblings for a pillow or mattress so providing a stuffed toy substitute will greatly reduce the stress of being without them. They absolutely love empty 20 oz drink bottles. I throw away the screw-on cap and toss them one. They play for hours.. cause it makes noise, tries to get away from them and they can pick it up by the neck. (lol lol ) Another thing they love are empty boxes, but you have to monitor these to ensure they don't tear off pieces and eat them. Again the boxes make noise and may try to escape. Information presented here is strictly my opinion based upon research and/or 50 years experience at rescuing animals of all sorts. Consult your vet and perhaps even get a second opinion from another vet about all you read on my website. |
