I played a trick on Peanut Butter Cookie! First, I said to Peanut, "Let's go play ball!"

He loves to play ball so he ran ahead into the yard. "Throw it to me!" he said.

I rolled a heavy, green ball to Peanut.

He jumped backwards out of the way. Then he sniffed it. He pushed it with his paw. The ball rolled a little bit. Then he pushed it with his nose. It didn't move.

"This isn't a ball! What is it?" Peanut asked.

"It is round like a ball. And it is green like one of your other balls. It is heavy like a baseball. So what makes you think it is not a ball?"

Peanut looked at me. He tilted his head and started to smile. (Did you know that bulldogs can smile? It's true!) "You're fooling me! Tell me what it is..."

"Oh, Peanut! You are too smart. You guessed it. It isn't a ball -- it's a watermelon!"

Peanut laughed out loud (which sounds just like a puppy saying 'arf arf arf').

"It IS a watermelon, Peanut! Let me cut it into two pieces and show you."

When I split the little watermelon in halves, Peanut was so surprised! I got a spoon and we both took turns eating the littlest watermelon. The funnies part of this adventure was watching Peanut spitting out the seeds!
