The wind was howling! The rain was pounding the roof! Lightning and thunder surrounded the house! All the puppies felt safe in their bedroom until the electricity stopped... The television that was playing a movie stopped... The lights went out and so did the air conditioner.

Inside the house, everything was quiet... Not a squeak or peep out of any of the bulldogs.

Outside the house, everything was noisy... Wind, rain, thunder and trees made all sorts of loud sounds!

When the storm passed and the wind and rain stopped, all of the puppies wanted to go outside except Peanut.

"Peanut. It's time to go outside and go potty!", I said but he didn't want to. He was afraid that the storm was coming back.

The Cowboy ran out the door and into the backyard looking at all of the flower pots that had been blown over. Peanut asked, "Why can't I be brave like Cowboy?"

"You are growing up, Peanut! The older you get, the more you learn. One of the things you learn is to keep safe."

"Cowboy says that I'm a chicken!"

"Being brave means that you take a chance on getting hurt to help someone else."

"Being brave isn't the same as being a Show Off!"
