This is the story of Peanut
and no more TV..

"Hey, Peanut! Wan'na go for a ride?" Peanut loves to ride in the van... Usually he sits in my lap but today we had a lot of other puppies going to the veterinarian for 'well puppy' checkups so Peanut had to sit in back.

Peanut was very well mannered when the Doctor examined him. He lifted his right front paw to show the vet that it was all well (almost)... He had been eating all of his Science Diet!

Dr. Frank said that Peanut's ankle was nearly straight and looked as if he was going to be all right! He also said that Peanut was growing up nicely and weighed twelve and a half pounds. This was good news to a puppy that started out so very small. Now he was almost as big as his sister.

The doctor told Peanut to keep eating all of his food and vitamins and exercise every day and not watch television so much.

Peanut wanted to tell the doctor that his daddy wouldn't let him watch ANY television.

On the way home, he asked me, "Why won't you let me watch television?"

I told him, "If Mr. Cliff from across the road came into our house every day for four hours and stood in the middle of the front room and kept telling you that you had to buy things and buy this because everyone had one and it was really fun and then he told stories about how strong he was and that he fought the aliens with his ray gun and he tricked the bad guys and then he wanted you to buy a new car or buy greasy hamburgers and did other dumb stuff, should I let him keep coming into our house?"

Peanut looked puzzled. "What about the T.V.?"

"The television is the same as somebody coming into our house telling you to like things more than doing stuff with me. So I stopped the cable television! And now we just watch movies -- your kind of movies, right?" Peanut likes "Mr. Magoo" -- you know the one with the English bulldog, "Angus"...

Peanut got an email from Bronson and Alec that suggested the movies "Homeward Bound" and "All Dogs Go to Heaven" and Peanut said, "Please" so we will be watching them.

Do you have any suggestions for movies for little ones?
