Peanut pulled and pulled on the fuzzy rope and out jumped the funniest monkey that he had ever seen!
"It's a monkey! It's a monkey!" barked Peanut.
And he took his new monkey to his favorite hiding place to play.
He was having so much fun, I hated to call him in for supper.
"Time to go up, Peanut. Bring your new monkey and show everyone," I said.
So Peanut went around the house showing his beautiful birthday present
to Sleepy and her new puppies, to Amber and to Juliet but not her puppies ("They're too little," he said.)
He let Sugar hold the monkey for just a minute.
Then he took it and showed Kate, Sweet T. Pie, JEB, and the rest of the bulldogs that sleep in the house.
"Do you want to sleep with your new toy tonight?" I asked Peanut.
"Oh, yes please," he answered. "And tell Bronson and Alec 'Thank you' for the best present that I ever got!"
