Good morning Judy!
I know you are still in the process of reading old emails, but I wasn't sure if you received the pictures I sent on Jeb's and Mortymer's birthday. In case you didn't, I wanted to send these. They are different than what I sent in July, but just as cute.
Things are going really well. Sophia is already 7 months old, and the baby and Mortymer are like two peas in a pod. He is so good with her, and she loves him. Whenever we walk by him she laughs. He never leaves our side, unless he is sleeping on his throne (aka what used to be OUR loveseat that he has claimed as his own, and only his) he is in the room with us wherever we go.
Have a great labor day! - Stephanie

I am typing one handed (baby in other), so this will be short, but I wanted to
send this to you to show how much Stinky likes being a big brother! He is
still doing pretty well, he is starting to test his boundries just as any
normal Bulldog would, but he listens pretty well when he is told no. He hasn't
yet shown any sort of agressiveness or jelousy, he has taken it all in stride.
He is such a good boy!
Enjoy!

Subject: Mortymer's Day at the Pool
Before the city pool is closed for the season, they let dogs in to play for 4 hours and
all proceeds went the the Humane Society. Mortymer had a good time, with the exception of
when he fell in face first, but overall enjoyed himself.
Thought you would like the pictures. The one where he is standing at the edge of the pool
that reads "6 inches" is my favorite because he had just fallen in the deep end (2 feet)
and he was so mad at us - acting like we just about let him drown. He went to a stranger
for comfort and just glared at us while we laughed. The next picture where he cautiously
gets in is also a favorite, as it took him almost 3 minutes to muster up the nerve to get
back in after the previous 'trauma'. As always he was a hit, and drew quite a crowd!
Well if Mortymer got his personality from his father, there will never be one
like it! I have never met a dog like him, I know we raised this little
monster, he sure is hilarious! I can't wait to see pictures of his half
brothers/sisters! Gotta run, when we are home he only drinks out of the tub-
he apparantly likes fresh water, he stands and licks on the faucet until I
turn it on - I think he thinks it is an udder and his licking magically turns
it on! What a BRAT!
PS MissB is pregnant, but there will never be puppies like she had with
PepperJack. They were the right combination.

Subject: Big Brother
Hi Judy!
We thought we would pass these pictures on and announce that Mortymer is going
to be a big brother in January. Luckily he has gotten some practice around
newborns with my 3 month old nephew. I think it will be an adjustment, but I
think he will be okay.
This is what Mortymer looks like every morning- almost
as bad as I do lately- his morning routine is amazing, it takes a minimum of 5
minutes to get him out of bed and usually Matthew gives in and just carries
him down the stairs- just as he wishes! He is no morning puppy, and does not
want to be disturbed before 10am. He is foul, and will take a few steps then
lay down, then you have to beg him to get back up and he'll take a few more
then take a break. I am fully aware we have created this monster, and I don't
doubt that this is probably his favorite time of the day- he acts like a
spoiled child and gets all the attention he wants! To add insult to injury, he
is often coerced down the stairs with treats!
Anyways we wanted to share the
news with you, and any advice you can offer to us in regards to introducing a
new baby to our 1st baby is always welcome! I know we do not have to buy a
baby monitor because when my newphew spent the night, Mortymer did not get a
wink of sleep- he stayed by the door all night and as soon as that baby made
the slightest noise he was whining and wanted us to check on him immediately-
he looked at us as if we were crazy for thinking a crying baby was not an
emergency. Poor baby (Mortymer) needed 2 days to recover after his babysitting
responsibilities. - Stephanie
