Click Here For More Pictures We're going to go back to bed and try to start this day all over again. Neither one of us has any energy, so instead of forcing ourselves to do some chores, we're going to take a good long nap. I love my "babies" however all the activity necessary to maintain them until they go to their new homes, really wears us out, me more so than Bob. We've taken pictures of Mandy already but I'll have to upload them later. Faith is next, then the 3 little puppies. I hope to have some of all of them posted here today sometime. - Judy Saturday - October 13, 2007 2:30 PM Garth PickupBob toted Garth to Jackson, TN this morning to meet Mat and Ella. Mat has had Ella since February of 2005 and she is the best acting bulldog that you have ever seen! She recognized Bob immediately (high five and kisses). Ella acted motherly toward Garth but wanted to play, too. You can see Ella's pickup pictures here and scroll down to Sunday - 2/13/2005 - 4:00 PM.Garth was not shy as was Ella when Mat picked her up. Garth wanted Mat to pick him up and cuddle. Ella wanted to play... Mat has built a raised area in the back area of the car for the bullies to watch out the windows.
Friday - October 12, 2007 Noon We hurriedly completed the "must do" chores and took a ride. I wanted to go by a house not far from here and take pictures of a plant while it was still in bloom. Bob and I had wondered where the road lead, so instead of turning around and going back out the way we came in, we decided to follow the road out the other end. I'm so glad we did. This is one of the pictures Bob took. Isn't it a beautiful sight!! It's a cypress swamp in the backwater of the Hatchie Rive about 7 miles from where we live.
Hopefully I will be back later today, right now I have a headache. - Judy Thursday - October 11, 2007 9:00 PM We received an Email about Punkin Cookie about an hour ago... From: Ryan's Subject: Re: Punkin & The Twins Date: Oct 11, 2007 8:10 PM Judy and Bob,
Thank you very much...It was a very long day but Punkin and I made it home.. The boys were at football so I dropped Punkin off at the house with mama and she gave her a bath while I went to pick up the boys.. When we got home Mom and Punkin were hiding on the porch so I pulled up "Judys_Journal" on PuppyGal.com and showed the boys all of the pups that have gone home and they were upset asking why everybody else got to go home already but not Punkin, so I kept scrolling up the page until we got to Punkin's picture with me and they just stared at me for about 20 seconds and then took off to find Punkin... It was perfect! They were so excited... Punkin fit right in with everyone... she was so excited to see and meet Mia (our boxer). They are acting like best friends, playing and rolling around together. Mia tries to stay low but Punkin keeps biting her lips so Mia will stand up then Punkin bites her feet... She has her toys all out and Mia is leaving them alone... Mia is even sharing her toys! I stayed up until midnight and then put Punkin in her Kennel in the boys room and she slept all night in her Kennel without a sound. Mia will even share her food and snacks so I know they are buddies.... We all love her and you do not have to worry at all about her...she will be spoiled rotten... Here are a few pics.... Thanks again for all your help.. The Ryan's
Thursday - October 11, 2007 7:15 PM I had Lisa Marie in with her puppies to nurse a couple of hours ago, Bob had let the Ditch Puppies out to run, he didn't think to shut the back door which we had open because it was such a nice day. In came Black Jack, followed by Queen of Hearts, I was across the room from them with a large container of dry dog food in my hand. I started telling them "NO" about the time Lisa Marie started for them. I dropped down on my knees between them, placing the container of food on the floor as I went down (hard on my knees) and grabbed Lisa. She's a wonderful, wonderful Bully BUT very protective of her "babies". What surprised me is, she didn't bark or growl, but I could tell by her speed and posture that she was going to "clean their plow" for sure. She didn't resist me so all is well, except I can't get off the floor to shut the door while I'm holding on to her. Bob to the rescue, one more time.... he shut the door, put Lisa Marie up and helped me get up off the floor. A pain reliever later and I'm sitting here with the trash can close at hand, really bad upset tummy. - Judy Wednesday - October 10, 2007 1:00 PM Punkin's Pickup! This morning, Big Daddy packed up Punkin's toys and chew ring and carried her to the Memphis Airport! Punkin was just like a rock star! Everyone smiled and said, "What a beautiful bulldog!" and she is! Pretty soon Mr. Ryan walked down the ramp, smiling. He was very happy to hold and pet Punkin! Punkin is going home to North Carolina to be spoiled...
Punkin giving "Hello!" kisses... We thank our friend Beth for letting everyone know the Cure For Gassy Bulldogs!!. This is not the first time Beth has given us helpful information and she's never been wrong, so try the below and see if it works for your Bully. From: Beth Sent: Tuesday, October 09, 2007 12:55 PM Subject: cure for gassy bulldogs!!! Judy, I know you are busy and don't have time for idle chit chat, but I have found a remedy for that awful, smelly gas that Bulldogs are famous for. I read in a dog magazine that canned, plain pumpkin (not the kind with spices added), can cure diarrhea in dogs and I tried it and it does work. Just a teaspoon mixed with their food will do the trick. Mine liked it so much that I decided to add a teaspoon to their food all the time and we just realized the other day that they haven't had any gas since we started doing it!!! You can imagine the foul odors when all four were in the same room!!! Just thought you might like to pass it along, I wish I had known about it a long time ago. Tuesday - October 9, 2007 7:30 AM I'm making lists and checking them twice to be sure we're getting everything accomplished. The big question is "when will the freeze come". For the last two years it's been October 24 or so, but it's still awfully warm so it does lead to a lot of speculation. I sure would hate to start cutting on my Angel's Trumpets too early, they have just now become covered in blooms. Only a couple have bloomed off and on all summer due to the high temperatures and drought. Right now there are about 20 in bloom and it so uplifting to walk among them and smell the perfumed air. I'll be back I'm going to go take pictures so you will know how wonderful they look ....

Monday - October 8, 2007 11:30 PM Ranger, new name Uncle Buck, going home to Chicago with Michael
Nana going home to Ohio with her new parents This is Henry who was looking for the younger sister they just adopted. Can't you just see him saying, "Where is she, where is she?" ![]() The new parents and a close up of Nana, she immediately went to sleep in Vickie's arms
Monday - October 8, 2007 4:30 PM My nap lasted longer than I expected, I woke up a couple of times but went back to sleep and finally got out of bed at Noon yesterday, helped do some "must do" chores and headed back to bed. I was totally exhausted.
Saturday - October 6, 2007 4:30 PM I was awake at 3:30 AM, anxious I would forget to do something this morning. We meet the new parents of Nana Cookie & Ranger Cookie in Jackson, TN at 10 AM. Then we went shopping for supplies, then got lunch .. I'll never go to a Chinese Buffet again. I use to feel the same way about Shoney's but we ate their breakfast buffet one day last week and it was pretty good. We made several stops and didn't get home until 2 PM or so, then we changed into work clothes and shifted into 3rd gear cleaning, feeding, taking out to potty, washing, washing, washing. Now I'm going to bed for a long nap. Every time I dozed off on the way home Bob was braking because there was construction, a slow driver ahead or a funeral ... down here most of us pull over to the side of the road as a show of respect to a funeral procession, regardless of who it is. I'll post pictures when I get up!! - Judy Friday - October 5, 2007 10:30 PM Whew!! Our tail feathers are dragging. As of right now I've responded to all emails, so if you haven't gotten a response, we have mail problems ... let me know. We snuggled into bed, ready to fall asleep, then we hear Lisa Marie, the best bully mama alive give her 2 low barks which mean, I need you right now. Bob got up, put on his robe, fumbling with the sleeve turned inside out. I asked him where his belt was and that is when he discovered he had put on the robe inside out. I laughed and he responded by saying, "Laugh at the old man will you!!!" I love my Big Daddy. - Judy Thursday - October 4, 2007 8:30 PM Hooty went home with his new Mama today. He is just so darn cute and you can see Deana's reaction to him in the below pictures. I'm the one in black. - Judy

Judy's little chickie girl, she was afraid of the camera flashing!! Tuesday - October 2, 2007 11:30 AM I love my Buster and am so proud of his offspring.... here is the exchange between the parents of Buster Two and me. They posted his picture on the Bully Braggin' section of the PuppyGal website. Date:Saturday, September 29, 2007 3:33 PM Subject: New Image Entry - Bully Braggin' Title:Winston...He was one of Judy's Winston is now 18 months old and the most lovable dog. He loves his mom and dad, and loves when guests come around. He also loves his pumpkin! Happy Halloween!
Note:Judy...You may remember Winston as Buster Two. We just love him and apologize for how long it has been since our last update. And true what you said about his father or grandfather he is a scaredy cat, but the most lovable dog and loves lying in the sun, and just loves when his mom and dad are around him. From: PupppyGal To: Winston's Parents Sent: Monday, October 01, 2007 10:02 PM Subject: Winston Update And Picture Thank you so much for posting his picture!!! He is beautiful!! The good thing about him being a scaredy cat, he won't go off with anyone and when he gets older he will put his hindquarter against your leg if a stranger appears, as if to say "mine". It would take some provoking but I think Buster, grandfather, would be very protective if the situation called for it, but only if there was danger. Do keep in touch. -Judy From: Brandon Sent: Monday, October 01, 2007 10:25 PM Judy, He is very protective and does do that with his hindquarter when strangers appear and does this funny little "ruff" to show he is not really a scaredy cat but when he figures out they are not hurting us or him....he's just a big, lovable baby. He loves for us to love on him, but more importantly he loves to love on us. I'll try to post more pics soon. We will never have another dog other than a bulldog. Thanks for our wonderful dog who brings a smile to our face every day. - Brandon and Andrea P.S. Winston is about to have a brother or sister come March. We are expecting our first!...(well, second really(winston)..haha) Tuesday - October 2, 2007 1:00 AM Lisa Marie gave out two short low barks, I was out of the bed in an instant. When I got downstairs all the newborn puppies were asleep, but she licked the air, meaning she was hungry. First I gave her dry kibble, not much if any interest, then I gave her the leftover fat from Bob's steak which she enjoyed. Then I gave her the shell of his acorn squash which looked rich with butter, she was in heaven, scoffed it down. lol lol Her barking had awaken the older puppies and they wanted to be fed. I gave them a tiny handful of dry Purina Puppy Chow and they were in heaven!! I hurriedly retreated to the upstairs part of the house. - Judy Monday - October 1, 2007 9:30 PM Whew!! Just sitting down for the night, but..... I woke up with a fever in the middle of the night so I slept late this morning. Didn't get up until about Noon. Boy did I needed that sleep. English Bulldog Puppies are doing great and the 3 Ditch Puppies (mixed breed pulled out of a ditch) are getting "big"!! lol lol Today Bob and I swore, no more critters period. Besides the Bullies which as everyone knows are demanding, we have a Parrot squawking and doing his dance to get our attention. Two cats early morning and late afternoon rubbing on my legs begging for something "really good" to eat like maybe a can of tuna (they have dry food out all the time). The three "strays that came to stay" anxiously awaiting for the leftover goodies of the day (same as with the cats, dry food out 24x7), the Ditch Puppies dashing everywhere when Bob lets them out to potty or switch their location. Melanie is in the mist of all of this, whining if she can't be right beside Bob, with her tail whipping the others in the face and breaking off limbs of my plants ... We don't need a TV we have too much entertainment as it is!!! I'm off to get some much needed rest. - Judy Sunday - September 30, 2007 3:30 PM Midnight and I'm snuggled up in the cool bedroom with a light blanket sound asleep having sweet dreams when Bob puts his cold self up next to me, he had been downstairs feeding the puppies then outside to walk Lisa Marie. Needless to say, that woke me up, then I start sneezing and it progressed into an allergy attack, so now I'm really awake. 3 AM and I finally drift back to sleep. We had decided we needed to be up and going strong by 5 AM to get our morning chores complete so that we could meet Bob & Gail for them to get TN Rose. I turned over and went back to sleep. Bob meanwhile got up and started working. At 6 AM he called to me again, I forced myself out of bed. We made it to Bob & Gail's motel by 8 AM and they were delighted with Tennessee Rose. She is precious. Their grandson was with them, he's a little shy and has never been around dogs so he was a little afraid of her but Rose will have him trained in no time. lol lol I told them they could spoil her rotten just so long as they maintained discipline. Don't let your puppy do at 10 pounds what you don't want it doing at 50 pounds. I hope you enjoy these pictures.
Saturday - September 29, 2007 6:00 PM Message to Bob & Gail: Got your message!! See you at 8 AM - Judy Saturday - September 29, 2007 9:15 AM We're finished with the first round of morning chores and we're exhausted, more like tired and grouchy .... I called the Post Office to ask if they had a Priority Delivery for me this morning and they do so I asked them to hold it there and Bob would pick it up. He's gone to get it now. As soon as he gets back we are putting up the "No trespassing" sign at the driveway entrance, leaving telephone calls to the answering machine and are crawling into bed. We need at least a good 4 hour nap, but the little puppies will need to be fed in about 2 hours. We'll leave it to Lisa Marie to sound the alarm, low bark, when they wake up and start crying. Have a wonderful weekend. - Judy Saturday - September 29, 2007 6:00 AM Oh Goodness, I worked on the website, editing, resizing, uploading and producing computer programming code to display the pictures for 7 straight hours yesterday, meanwhile Bob took care of the puppies. When I finished at 7 PM, I took an hour break reading the news via computer, before feeding and cleaning up after the puppies. Then I was "wired", I couldn't go to sleep until after 11:00 PM. I'm just now crawling out of bed. Since Bob took the night shift with the puppies, I got to sleep 7 straight hours!! Isn't he wonderful!! - Judy Friday - September 28, 2007 6:00 PM I'm in the process of uploading pictures of Reba's Puppies to her litter page. Thursday - September 27, 2007 4:30 AM We took Smart Cookies puppies to the vet for their well puppy physical and they passed with flying colors. Dr Frank repaired Ranger's umbilical hernia, Punkin has a tiny one which Dr David said shouldn't cause her a problem but recommended her new vet evaluate it when she's taken for her puppy shots and perhaps have it repaired when she is spayed. We also took Faith because she was the one that was acting like she had colic, then it went away but came back again. She had a small hernia also but he said it could very well be causing the problem therefore he repaired it. Bulldogs are prone to have small umbilical cord hernias therefore we take precautions. They can be caused by a couple of things: mother licking the newborn too hard, cut too short during the c-section, clamp being too heavy for the cord after it's cut and this is the reason we use human baby clamps that are disposable they are light weight. With Smart Cookies puppies she did not have a c-section therefore the hernias and with Reba it was after hours and we couldn't locate the light weight clamps. The vet tech had put them in a "special place" but she wasn't there. lol We seldom have hernias and now a rash of them. Tennessee Rose is being picked up by her new parents on Sunday and they will find she is a character. She will entertain herself for hours on end and in the process make us laugh. She loves to lay on her back and play with her toys like she's a human baby. Then all of a sudden, she will bark at one of us to pick her up for some loving. The only other time she barks is when she's hungry. How we can tell the difference is when she's hungry she licks the air, after a bark. lol lol Warning: Don't bid on eBay if you don't really want to win!!! I bid $2.75 for a bunch of Yellow "no name" iris and the same amount for an equal amount of Purple "no name" Iris, never thinking I'd win, but I did. Now I have so many iris and daylilies to plant I'll need a tractor to till up a new garden. lol lol Wednesday - September 26, 2007 5:30 AM When Bob took the video of Punkin, he was making weird sounds which really set her off. Normally they are peaceful and quiet unless they are hungry, I promise. Yesterday we went to Corinth, MS to get supplies. Tuesdays are bargain days in that the grocery stores mark down the meat with the Tuesday "sell by date". We buy the meat and put it in the freezer to be cooked for "our gang" later. Short on time because the youngest puppies need feeding every 3 hours, we split up the list of things to be gotten at Wal-Mart and met at the check out counter. Our next stop was the butcher shop where we bought 32 pounds of neck bones to boil up, take the meat off and make pork stew with lentils, sweet potatoes and rice or plain pork gravy for the critters. I season it with rosemary, thyme, garlic and pour it over their soaked kibble. The strays that came to stay and the Ditch puppies, get the bones which crush easily in addition to the stew or gravy. We also got 10 lbs of cracklin's for treats they cost a pretty penny and 6 whole pork livers for pork liver treats and gravy for their food. Is this crazy or what!!! Oh, it never fails that this one man who waits on the counter says, "you want 6 whole pork livers" like it is the most outlandish thing he has ever heard. lol lol Be kind, be gentle, unless pushed into a corner, then come out like a lion. lol lol - Judy Tuesday - September 25, 2007 4:30 AM Suggestion for the new puppy owners, go to a yard sale or thrift store and buy lots of stuffed toys, be careful not to get those which have parts they can pull or chew off. You can toss them in the washing machine with detergent and bleach to kill any germs and then let them air dry, few will survive the dryer. We washing them over and over again. They love their stuffed animals. Another thing they like are baby rattlers, the baby stuff toys that have the rattler sound to them, baby keys again because they make noise. Right now Hooty is downstairs having a ball trying to make a stuffed animal talk, I've shown him the animals paw to bite ... he's bitten everything but that. lol lol
Monday - September 24, 2007 3:20 PM The moral to this situation seems to be "Just because they can doesn't mean we should let them". The English Bulldog Breed was not bred to be agile they were bred to be strong. They should not be allowed to jump on and off of platforms, beds, porches, vehicles, especially sports utility vehicles, etc. because doing so might cause damage such as described below. My heart goes out to Tristin & Charles because I didn't tell them not to let her jump on and off a high bed. Had I known they had I high bed I would have. We never allow ours to jump into or out of the cargo door of the van because it sits high, although they surely want to do it themselves. Our old van sat lower and they could go in and out of the side door easily. From: Tristin Sent: Tuesday, September 18, 2007 Subject: RE: Update on Precious HI Judy, Well, we have been going through a lot. Apparently the initial diagnosis of Lyme disease, which had been confirmed by blood test, was incorrect. We have been through three vets and the ones we have now are certain it’s an orthopedic / back issue. They think it may be the very early stages of IVDD (Intervertebral Disc Disease). They have her on pain killers, and a diet (she went from 47 pounds to 51 pounds since last Nov, and they think that’s part of the strain on her back) , and limited exercise with no running or jumping. She’s in pain. I blame myself for letting her jump on and off a high bed for two years. Anyway, that’s the update so keep her in your prayers and we will keep you updated. Whenever I need a smile I go to your web page and look at all your little darlings. Give our love to Bob. Xoxoxo Tris ** Side note, on 9/25 I asked Tris to send me a picture of the x-ray taken with a ditigal camera for my vet to give a second opinion. I'm betting it's a pinched nerve. - Judy Monday - September 24, 2007 3:20 AM Isn't this the nicest e-mail - Judy Friday, September 14, 2007 Dear Judy and Bob, The new babies are adorable!!I like the names Danielle and Benjamin. If I was still looking for a puppy, I would put my name in for Lil Cookie. She has the roundest head!!You two must surely be exhausted, I get sleepy just thinking how many times you are up in the night. But I have to tell you it sure is appreciated by your new parents. Our Gracie is the best puppy we have ever had (and we have had our share). Never had a bit of trouble adjusting to her new home, never chewed a thing she shouldn't and is the most demonstrative with her emotions. There is never a "oh, hi, were you gone?' but "OH BOY,I'M HAPPY TO SEE YOU!!!wiggle wiggle" As you can tell, we are all totally in love with Gracie. All 3 of the other ones have accepted her too. She plays with the 2 big ones and snuggles with the 9 year old.I can't believe she is 5 months old already. Well,I know you are really busy. Try to rest and enjoy those babies. Lynn Monday - September 24, 2007 9:20 AM My friend Twyla in Oklahoma who is battling cancer sent this to me yesterday so I thought I would share it with you all. Life is too short to wake up with regrets. So love the people who treat you right. Forget about those who don't. Believe everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said life would be easy, they just promised it would most likely be worth it." By Michael Gartner Sunday - September 23, 2007 10:00 AM I just got the dickens scared out of me. Someone was ringing the door bell, I got up from the computer, woke Bob up and headed downstairs. On the way it rang again then I could hear knocking on the door. Urgency sounding!! I opened the back door to a skinny young lady wearing medium high heel shoes with clothes to match, When I opened the door, she took a step forward as if to enter the house, saying I need to use a telephone. I blocked her entry by stepping forward, she stepped back and I closed the door behind me. Point of reference here... English Bulldogs are the number one stolen dogs in the USA, I need to use a telephone is the number one entry method of robbers. Sending a sweet young thing to catch the person off guard is also a highly used mode of entry. I demanded to know who she was and why she needed to use my phone. Ashley she said and I need a ride to church so I need to call my Aunt & Uncle. That meant nothing to me!! So I drilled her more and she started to cry. Oh no ploy or real??? I asked if she was the Ashley who lived in the trailer down and across the road who was all grown up now? or the Ashley who lived further down the road. She said she use to live in the trailer, not telling me which one, but doesn't anymore that's when the tears really started to flow, there were problems and now she lives with her Aunt & Uncle who have custody of her. I hugged her and said we've scared each other. Told her about having puppies and them being the #1 stolen dog. Told her she didn't need to use the phone because I would take her to church. Then I thought ... I can't take her because I drank 3 oz of wine hopeful it would help me go to sleep. Meanwhile Bob saw that I was talking to a young lady so he went back to bed. He thinks I can take care of any situation!!! lol lol I called to him, he answered and I told him he needed to take a young lady to church. I don't know if you are a believer or not, but sometimes the Good Lord sends to me those who need tender loving care. I think this Ashley is one of those. - Judy PS It's at least 1/2 mile from the main road to our house a gravel road, she said she walked that far in heels??? Her tears were too much for the situation, I kept asking her what had happened to her. Click Here Judy's Garden 2005!!
