The E-Mail Function has been disconnected due to the unbelievable number of Spams and Scams. If you need to speak to me please call (731) 376-0635 between the hours of 7 AM and 7 PM CST. This is a private residence, we are not a company. This telephone number is on the State of Tennessee and Federal NO CALL lists for telemarketers.

Please do not call me in reference to when we will have available puppies, I will post that information on the website when the time is appropriate. Be polite and you will receive same in return, but if you are rude (don't call me Judy if you refer to yourself as Mr. or Mrs. I'm not beneath you in life's pecking order) or ask explicate sexual questions about breeding, I'll say goodbye and hang up the telephone.

""Celebration of Life"" Wednesday - June 3, 2009 8:30 A.M.
Jelly Bean passed away late yesterday afternoon. Poor Baby had been in failing health the past couple of months due to her health issues. Born 12/29/03 with a cleft palate, Bob feed her with a tube he inserted down into her stomach. For those of you who do not know about this process, it's not for the faint of heart. At the crossroad of "should we put her down or try our best to help her survive", we decided she deserved to live and if her situation became such that she no longer enjoyed living, we could help her along the way then. Jelly loved her Big Daddy Bob with all her heart until she passed from this world. Yesterday morning he sat in the floor and cradled her in his lap saying their final goodbyes. 6 years of being loved and having the ability to return that love, is indeed 5 1/2 years well worth living .... we celebrate Jelly's years on this earth. - Judy (I'll return later and post pictures of her. I can't see the names of the pictures through my tears.)

"Bully Heat Stroke Warning & Todays Blooms" Wednesday - June 3, 2009 6:00 A.M.

Blooming Now....

Angel's Trumpet (Brugmansia) Rosamond Seedling, which means it was grown from a seed and I could apply to have it registered, but it looks too much like Rosamond's other offspring. I don't know how they smell but she perfumes an acre easily with this many blooms. When an Angel's Trumpet has several blooms open at one time it's referred to as a "flush".

Yearly - Bully Heat Stroke Warning!!!!

Summer can be hadazardous to your English Bulldog's health and well being.

Use good judgement at all times and monitor your Bully carefully. A woman called me crying and wanting to know if I had any puppies, her children had been in the back yard playing with their Bully and didn't know it was over-heating, it had a heat stroke and died. Thankfully it wasn't one of my "babies".

Never leave your Bully outside alone without shade when the temperature is above 72F, their coat absorbs the sun's rays and depending upon the Bully it could prove to be fatal. Just because there is shade available doesn't mean your Bully will go to it if it gets hot, they don't realize they are hot, until they are too hot.

Never leave your Bully outside alone although it is confined to a shaded area during the summer, temperatures rise quickly.

Never jog with your Bully.

Never take long walks with your Bully without taking along a wagon to transport it back home should it start to get too hot ... a good idea is to take along plenty of water to drink or pour on it.

Never allow your male Bully to attempt to breed a female, free style. They are too short and compact to complete the act and could very well have a heat stroke or heart attack trying.

Never place your Bully in a plastic kennel in a vehicle during the summer, air flow is too restricted.

Never allow your Bully to be unsupervised in a vehicle, crated or otherwise. A/c systems fail, vehicles run out of gas, etc.

"Update" Tuesday - June 2, 2009 3:45 P.M.
1. See the pictures of Kate & Mr Cat that I added on the first posting for today. lol lol This is typical of what Mr Cat does, just think about all the others running around acting weird to poor Kate.

2. While shopping I got frustrated with the label of my shirt sticking my back. I went into the Kroger restroom and turned my shirt inside out and put it back on. What a relief it was!!! Lordy I had a hand full of nice Southern Ladies, lay their hand on my shoulder and whisper in my ear, Sweetheart you've got your shirt on inside out. I told each of them "Thank You So Very Much". Everywhere I went after that the scene was repeated. How very nice and helpful people can be if given the opportunity.

3. When I went sailing through Corinth, the KFC wasn't open so I opted to stop at Subway for a sausage biscuit ... oops changed my mind and got a 12 inch Italian Meatball Sub instead. Of course I shared with Bob and Alvin, who was here to help Bob build the new raised bed, install the window a/c's I purchased in Corinth and help move "stuff".

I've 'bout run out of steam. - Judy

PS Down here we have stores that are called "bent & dent" or salavage stores. I've gotten all sorts of bargains that you just would not expect i.e. a paint scratched gallon can of Olive Oil $11 still within date ... it's great for the body inside and out. Please read these articles.
OLIVE OIL AS A MEDICINE
I've found the Olive Oil is very smoothing to my body when I've been attacked by insects. We take showers, I soak myself down with olive oil then give Bob a rub down. He loves massages and an olive oil rub will put him to sleep in seconds. I tell him it's disgusting how quick he can drop off to sleep. lol lol

"Gotta Think On This" Tuesday - June 2, 2009 11:40 A.M.
First off I used Flonase (contains steroids) for two days, skipped 2 then used it in the middle of the night for insect bites for a total of 3 usages, last time Sunday night. I'm here to tell you I feel 20 years younger, course I was feeling pretty dang old and had to fight to keep a good attitude when I was the sickest. After running all over Corinth, MS shopping, I was doing a bit of "line dancing" in the kitchen with the Bullies a little while ago, Bob came in the back door, looked at me and went back out. I called out "do you wanta dance, do you wanta to party" to which he replied "no thank you". lol lol I'm thinking I need to get up and leave the house every morning at 6:30 AM and going walking through stores. I'll be back later to tell you how to get on a friendly basis with lots of Southern ladies quickly. Bob says only I would do such a thing ... I didn't do it to elicit caring words and actions from our local Southern Belles but that surely is what happened. - Judy

"Ms Kate Of Dogwood Pond" Tuesday - June 2, 2009 6:00 A.M.
She turned 11 years old this past March. She has begun to show her age physically and has become even more high demand. She wants to go out to take care of her business a couple of times in the middle of the night. I told Bob I think she just has something outside she likes to do at night but he swears she has herself a drink of water then trots out to her favorite place. Today I finally "got it" .. she's gotten to where she doesn't like to go out with "our gang", she's not as tolerant as she use to be. Ruckus is a get in her face pest, Cherry Cookie is trying to lay claim to Queen Kate's throne, Jerry Lee's hormones are kicking in (she's tired of explaining her head is not an object of pleasure), Li'l Cookie will run over anything in her way when she makes the "potty time over inside dash" because she knows there will be a treat waiting (if she hurries she can might be able to eat more treats than just hers), plus Kate is tired of Mr. Cat's fur up her nose when he rubs himself on her. They just will not leave her alone, therefore she's putting off taking care of her business until she can be alone. We tried taking her to a dog run, but that was an insult. You should have seen the look on her face as she screamed "put them in dog runs I was here first". lol lol
Thursday - 03/09/06 11:45 AM
Mr Cat loves Kate...
Whenever he sees her in the yard he runs to her and starts rubbing and purring. She likes the attention but as you will see in these pictures when she has "to go" she tries to ignore him. She trots off to the tall grass with him trailing behind her or trying to stop her by rolling on the ground in front of her. [Kate is an 8 year old retired Bully Mama who had some of the sweetest baby bullies ever.]

Angel Trumpets (Brugmansia) Are blooming
They open up as white then the color changes. Here they are in their white stage.

Judy's Mauve Rose
I grew this from seed therefore it's special, but too near to others which have been hybridized for me to register it as new. By now a great many people have received cuttings and it's well on it's way being very popular because it is so very easy to grow.
Oops ... had to go help with the critters and now I have to get on the road, must make a trip to Corinth, MS by myself to get supplies. The high temperature for today is forecast to be 91 F, so I've got to make this trip quickly. I'll be back later with pictures, the Angel Trumpet blooms turned overnight to their first shade of "rose" so I'll be posting those pictures.

"Re-enactment Of Caddyshack" Monday - June 1, 2009 4:00 A.M.
I was considering a re-enactment Of Caddyshack. Some critter has developed a taste for my Lilies. It is tunneling in and eating the roots and bulb. The plant will look like it is wilted but give it a slight tug and up it comes to expose the tunnel below. So far it's only been the stargazers and I have so many of the others that losing a few shouldn't make a difference but it does. So I stomped and fumed at the "strays" because they hadn't caught whatever it is.

All of a sudden yesterday afternoon there is a gosh awful feline growl, large size not a sound that we have ever heard before. I dashed off to investigate because I didn't want a juvenile Bob Cat attacking one of the critters. The only times we've seen Bob Cats they were at the side of the road eating "road kill", not anywhere near houses, but you never know what a wild critter will do. By the way they are beautiful.

Up popped Mr Cat out of no where, coming straight toward me with a varmint in his mouth, bigger than a rat, long tail and just as pink as it could be. Goodness for a few minutes I thought he was going to lay it at my feet and I wasn't sure it was dead, so I said "No Mr Cat, scat". He walked on by, while I put myself into reverse. Down the side of the house he went with the "thing" in his mouth. About half way to the front, he let out with that gosh awful war cry, I suppose it was one of pride mixed with a warning that it was his "kill". I can assure you after all the hollerin' he did, no other critter wanted to even look at his dang "kill", afraid he would do serious damage to them. I hope that puts an end to the lily attacks.

Working amongst the weeds in my flower beds on Friday, I got bit by all sorts of insects, from little spiders to big ticks. All the rainy weather we've had caused them to hatch out, plus June is "chigger" time so perhaps a few of the early hatchings had a taste of me also .... if I'm with a hundred people and there is one insect, it will find me. I couldn't sleep last night the itching was so bad. In the early morning hours I used the Flonase, which contains a steroid. We went to town yesterday morning to buy potting soil and wood to make yet another raised bed. When lunch time came around we headed to the New China Buffet ... I reasoned if I was already taking steroids it was highly probable that I wouldn't have a "upper respiratory allergic reaction" to seafood. I gorged myself on shrimp and raw oysters. They were some of the best oysters I've ever eaten. I ate at least a dozen. lol lol My reasoning was correct, no allergic reaction. Now how do I get a few steroid pills ... the doctor will prescribe a dose pack when the insects bites are really bad, but I don't think he'd be willing to prescribe steroids just so I could stuff my face with the food I love. lol lol Oh my if I have to use the Flonase today, I'm going to find a KFC and order a giant container of fried chicken livers. I'll eat all the small ones while running down the highway back toward home and leave the big ones for Bob because their flavor is too strong for me. lol

Lilies - new blooms

A heart that is void of hate, is a healthy heart. - Judy

PS - Did You Know

Pepper plants, both hot and sweet, are perennial and will live for many, many years if protected from frost. Even if you have them planted in the garden you can pot them up just before frost and winter them over in a well lighted area.

Canna Lilies - it's time to give them a good dusting with Sevin Dust before the leaf rollers get a toe hold.

"A stitch in time saves nine!!" Sunday - May 31, 2009 9:00 A.M.
I announced early yesterday morning that Bob needed to keep his eye open for a small parrot of some kind because every so often I would hear a low grumpy voice imitating a radio announcer. One of the cockatiels goes "here" ever so often but only for 10 words or so ... I have no idea what it is saying. Late afternoon, I heard it again but it was closer and sounded more like a steady plucking of a one string guitar. Then it dawned on me that it was a bullfrog or toad in or around the goldfish pool. Lord help me if Jeb and Ruckus hear that sound at the same time, I'll never be able to keep those "chunks" out of the pool. lol lol

Ruckus and I had what I hope was our final confrontation a few days ago. Between the age of 6 months and a year all critters will challenge you. Some of these situations can be handled as easily as a stern "NO" but it depends upon how well you have trained the critter and how determined it is. As you will have seen on this video, Ruckus is major spoiled due to the fact that he almost died. (Vet accidentally cut his head during his mother's c-section which resulted in him being blind in one eye and maybe just not "right") He spent lots of time snuggled in either mine or Bob's arms. He had the most unreasonable desire to dominate me and has expressed this many times. Our showdown came when he wanted to wrestle to prove he was "Top Dog". Ruckus is extremely chunky and one of the strongest Bullies we've ever had. After a few minutes, I bend down grabbed his floppy cheeks in my hands and bellowed out at him. He instantly got the message, jumped back as only a Bully can do, then raced off to find something of mine to "tear up". He chose the water hose ... big mistake because it gave me any idea. While he was wrestling with the hose. I turned the water on and hose him down good. He ran straight at me so I got him square in the face. Calmed him right down. A little later, I made him return my hug (yucky wet dog) now we're back on an even keel and I hope it remains that way.

"Cure For Bird Flu ?????" Saturday - May 30, 2009 9:00 P.M.
Korean dish 'may cure bird flu'

I read the headline to Bob and said it must be that "nasty tastin" kimchi. lol lol I was right "South Korea's spicy fermented cabbage dish, kimchi, could help to cure bird flu, according to researchers." Needless to say, Bob really likes it but he says he has to eat it with the right kind of other foods, like pinto beans, cornbread and several glasses of milk to cool down his mouth. lol

A New Variety of "Farolito Lily"????
I have 6 of so of these lily bulbs I planted last year. Most lilies will produce more bulbs from the original and in a year or two there will be enough to share with a friend.
A strange thing has happened, one of the bulbs is producing double or maybe they are triple petaled blooms. I can't find a reference to this being common for the variety therefore it could be that a hybridizer would love to get their hands on this one. lol

This is how the Farolito bloom is suppose to look.

Here is a photograph of the the double/triple

"What's For Supper!!!" Thursday - May 28, 2009 8:30 P.M.
We ate late tonight because we had been so busy, but it was worth the wait. All this was homemade by me off and on the last two days:
Meatloaf
Baked Potatoes
Cole Slaw
Corn On The Cob
Sliced Tomatoes
Sliced Sweet Onion
yum, yum!!

I also made from scratch Cheese Pasta, kinda like Mac & Chese but used Penna pasta, which we snacked on for lunch along with cantaloupe and toasted sourdough bread with a delicous olive spread. I know weird combination but we were just snaching .... trying things.

"Iris, Red Wine Color" Thursday - May 28, 2009 8:00 P.M.

"Rabbits Are Now Mildred's" Thursday - May 28, 2009 1:30 P.M.
Today the rabbits went to live with Mildred and Larry. I told the story last Fall of deciding to raise rabbits for Bully food, healthy for them due to no hormones, drugs, etc., plus rabbit manure is great for plants. Well that didn't work out ... the "strays" kept attacking the cages trying to kill them. Might have known since Boomer and Dumpy go hunting for wild rabbit for breakfast. Melanie evidently has had experience eating raw - rabbits that is and she kept trying to get to them. Still inside the cages we put them in a dog run so the "strays" couldn't get them but immediately realized that wasn't a good idea since Melanie can make short work of digging under the "fence", she's one big girl. It got crazy here 24x7 so they were moved into the covered dog run with a concrete floor for their protection although they were suspended above the floor it was not the ideal environment for them therefore they became just something else for Bob to have to care for. While Bob was picking up our lawn mower from Larry, who does small engine repair, Mildred happened to mention she was pulling grass and weeds and would have lots of "green stuff" for her compost pile. Bob offered her the rabbits, both males (the female escaped), she was delighted.

"Kickin' Stickin' Jam Cake" Thursday - May 28, 2009 11:30 A.M.
Easy Jam Cake
1 spice cake Mix
1 1/3 cup milk
3 eggs
18 oz seedless blackberry or strawberry jam
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup raisins

350 Degrees preheat oven. Grease and flour 3 (9") round cake pans. Mix first 4 together until smooth, dredge nuts and raisins with flour, fold into mixture. Bake 30-40 minutes. Frost with Caramel frosting

The above is so simple and sounds delicious .... oops she who gets crazy in the kitchen made slight changes.
Substituted German Chocolate for Spice Cake mix
Boysenberry jam instead of blackberry or strawberry, thought it wasn't sweet enough so added 1/4 cup Passover Fig jam which is mega sweet.
Used dried cherries instead of raisins and left out the pecans.
Started off with a Boiled Buttermilk frosting, added lots of cream cheese, almond filling from a can and coconut. Boy Howdy is it good but too sweet by far.

Well I cooked the cake, cooked the cake and cooked the cake. The texture turned out to be a cross between fudge and chewy brownies. I couldn't get it out of the pans. I finally resorted to using a very small spatula to run up under the cake to loosen it from the pan. It is so sweet there is no need for a frosting I assure you but I dabbed some between the layers and on top just to hide the gouges I had made with the spatula. Poor Bob loves it .... I don't eat "sweet" stuff and surely not anything this sweet. lol lol lol

"Blooms" Wednesday - May 27, 2009 9:30 A.M.
Angel's Trumpet Buds
Several of my plants are loaded with buds. They are the ones which over-wintered in pots of soil. The ones which were kept in water all winter and rooted won't bloom until late Summer or early Fall. Here is an example of one of the plants which is loaded with buds.

The Lilies are hard to photograph but they are beautiful. Please bear with me for posting pictures of them in different stages of blooming and I love this little toad

"Whirling Dervish" Wednesday - May 27, 2009 9:30 A.M.
Yesterday I left the house for the first time since the woman coughed on me giving me the flu. First stop was the "thrift store" to get used paperback books, I had read everything in the house at least 6 times ... except Shogun I only head it twice. Next we went to Corinth. Mississippi for supplies; County Co-op, Walmart, Gardner's Grocery Lowe's and Kroger. I had made a list of stuff we had to have but naturally purchased much more. Kroger had a quart of Edy's Ice Cream for $2.37 therefore that was our "refreshment". I got a fork from the deli and we ate Butterfinger Brittle Ice Cream out of the carton. There was a time when I would not have been able to get Bob to do that, but now he goes with the flow. I don't eat much so I drove which allowed him to munch out on the ice cream.

The high temperature for today is forecast to be 86 F so I've got to finish my morning chores before it gets too hot. I can't handle heat and high humidity. I'll be back later with pictures of blooms, etc. - Judy

Seven year old Jeb is the Bully who was crippled from an injury when he was a pup and 3 NY vet's wanted to put him down. He was flat on his stomach pulling himself around by his paws, leaving a trail of urine when we finally got him back home. After 2 weeks of tender loving care, medication and physical therapy administered by Bob, he took his first step and went on to made a 95% recovery. Don't know how that relates to his long tongue, maybe all those steroids he had to take. lol lol

"Barn Re-Roofing Complete", Sunday - May 24, 2009 6:30 A.M.
I'm proud to say the roofer completed the job prior to the rain sitting in. There is a pretty good chance of rain through Thursday, which will surely spoil many Memorial Weekend Cook-Outs. Just to set the record straight Southern style, down here grilling is cooking hamburgers, hot dogs and such on a grill. BBQ is a whole different matter, it's dry spices, wet sauce or just plain slow cooking of pork, beef or chicken but they all end up with either tangy spices or sauce. For your reading pleasure please go here
BBQ Spaghetti, BBQ Pizza, BBQ Nachos
I bet most of you have never heard of such things. I make a mean batch of BBQ Spaghetti and of course the recipe was developed after many years of trying to improve it so it's my "secret recipe". Actually it only has a couple of special ingredients that smooths out the finished product delightfully. I serve it with a shaker of my special blend of dry BBQ spices for those who like an extra kick. Also the BBQ shaker is always at hand if Bob wants to shake it on his breakfast eggs, just depends upon his mood. I prefer a dash of Crystal Hot Sauce or Catchup on my scrambled eggs, ever once in a while. Speaking of scrambled eggs, I've decided it's an art form, cause I've eaten too many "ain't right" scrambled eggs in my lifetime. Scrambled eggs hold the heat and continue to cook after they are off the fire, so if you don't watch out you'll have dried out tasteless yuck.

Since I'm on the subject of food, I've given up on grits for the time being. I've gotten hold of one too many packages which must of come from the bottom of the barrel cause they contain too much husk .. yuck, yuck, yuck. I had experienced this with other brands so I always buy Jim Dandy but the last two bags I've purchased were not up to their prior product so I tossed them on an ant hill ... theory is ants eat them, drink water then explode. I don't think that's true but what the heck, I wasn't going to eat them.

I'm through now. - Judy

"Hallelujah", Saturday - May 23, 2009 9:00 A.M.
Hallelujah!! To be read as that which a rambunctious Southerner would shout out in response to an especially good happening. It's shouted out in some churches in response to a kickin' sermon or good news, as in a life saved, building fund goal reached or someone being snatched from the clutches of the Devil.

I finally gave in and started taking a medication which contains a steroid. My appetite was down to zero, still had fever and I was experiencing allergy attacks that even scared me. I just could not seem to overcome the after affects of that dang flu. The first day on the medication was OK but no dramatic change except sleep was impossible. Second day I was up most of the day but didn't accomplish much at all except to love on the critters and be cranky with Bob, due to lack of sleep. Third day I was really cranky, still no sleep. About 1 PM I laid down for a short nap and when I woke up I told Bob I was starved. I hurriedly went into the kitchen, grabbed cans of veggies, opened them and dug in with a spoon ... no putting them on a plate or warming them up. I just started shoveling food into my mouth. Shoe Peg corn never tasted so good and tiny English peas tasted like they were God's gift to mortals. Shovel into my mouth a spoonful and while chewing, I opened another can. I drained the juice from a can of beets into a bowl, added sugar and vinegar, popped it into the microwave to heat almost to boiling and then added the beets. This is how I pickle beets. Meanwhile, more corn and peas straight from the cans. Finally I was no longer frantic for food.

That was yesterday ... I'm feeling so much better today. - Judy

"Tiny Hail Cell Perched Over Us!!", Saturday - May 16, 2009 4:30 AM
A tiny hail cell perched over our house woke me up. I'm to return to bed shortly but just thought I would make an entry to assure all of you I'm a little better.

I've found a great "sleep aid" ... "Shogun" I can only take reading it a little at a time because there are a thousand characters etc., so out of self-defense off to sleep I go. lol lol

I forgot to explain about RU .. Bob's first thought was to rush him to the vet's office. I told him if he was chocking by the time he made that long drive and got into see the vet, RU might be DEAD. Action was needed immediately. You've all read the stories about the person chocking in a restaurant and someone coming to the rescue with the Heimlich maneuver, well as far as I'm concerned it was the Bully Heimlich Bob did on RU.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend. - Judy

"Ru Is Fine!!", Thursday - May 14, 2009 7:30 PM
For a Bully who almost left this world yesterday, Ru is "as fit as a fiddle" today, per Bob. At my suggestion last night Bob gave him an antibiotic shot just in case he inhaled some small particles. Hopefully it will head off any problems.

Yesterday, Ruckus was all ears behind a kiddie gate wanting to know what was going on. I told Bob it was a good thing that it wasn't Ruckus he had to grab, turn upside down and shake ... too much loose skin, and too fat. He would have just slithered out of Bob's arms. - Judy

"Oh Lordy!!", Wednesday - May 13, 2009 4:30 PM
Trying very hard to get well, I stayed in bed this morning after having slept all night. Around Noon Bob came bounding upstairs and woke me up with the news that, Ru was choking. I told him to grab him around his middle, turn him upside down and shake him to dislodge whatever had caught in his throat. Meanwhile I grabbed my clothes, put them on and started downstairs.

Ru was in the kitchen, breathing heavily but I could tell it was only from panic. I questioned Bob. He said Ru was much better than before and the shaking probably saved his life. Mere minutes later Ru was back to his normal self, wanting some of everything.

Lordy this is like having a house full of children. One never knows what will happen next. I'm too tired to be the "old woman in the shoe who had so many children she didn't know what to do". - Judy

"Wise Words", Tuesday - May 12, 2009 3:30 PM
When working for corporate America, a lady who worked for me so impressed me with her generosity toward her ex-spouse and his family in regard to her daughter. Never mind that he wasn't paying child support, never mind their disagreements ... she was determined that her daughter's relationship with the father and his family would be the best it could be. I think I told her a hundred times that she was the best mother I had ever known. There are too many parents like the ones described below

PARENTAL ALIENATION HURTS CHILDREN FOR A LIFETIME. It is sad that one parents hatred for the other is stronger than their love for the child/children. All cruelty springs from weakness. It is most always the weak parent that alienates. The "target" parent is usually the most stable and loving parent. The child/children are poisoned (brainwashed) against the "target" parent and for what?? REVENGE! PARENTAL ALIENATION NEEDS TO STOP! If you know of someone, friend or family, who is doing this, you need to intervene and seek help for the child/children. Parental Alienation has a negative effect on every child who is a victim of this selfish act. They carry the scars into every facet of their lives - school, work, relationships, etc. JFry58 3:30 AM comment on (http://abcnews.go.com/US/WireStory?id=7551113&page=4)

Now how that relates to English Bulldogs. You would be suprised at the games people play with the "furbabies" in their lives. So very sad for one "parent" to spoil them so badly that they are TOO loyal to just that one person in the family. - Judy

I wish to apologize for my entries, a friend told me they had so upset her she had to quit reading my journal. Oh Lordy did that make me feel bad and contributed to me not posting since Monday. The other reason is I can't stay up for more than a few hours because my temperature starts climbing so I'm just going to be a Princess and stay in bed until I get over whatever this is. Please don't worry about me, unless I tell you it is time to worry!!

Have a wonderful weekend - Judy

Just wanted you to know I'm still in the land of the living. lol lol This flu keeps dragging itself out for both Bob and I but has just about run it's course. Immediately after I got to feeling better, I suffered a gallbladder attack, whew doggie, I don't want another one of those.

If you are wondering why I didn't go to the doctor: first I don't have insurance and second, I can't take antibiotic or pain medication therefore there is very little a doctor could do except take my money. Trust me when I tell you doctors don't want you for a patient if you are without insurance and I can definitely see their point ... they don't want to run tests unless they are absolutely necessary but they need to run enough to cover themselves in case of a law suit. In my opinion, that is just one of the real dilemmas with the American health system. Resolution would need to start with the court system. - Judy

"Duncan (MissB & Jazzman's DOB 10/31/05) Bulldog Mascot for a day...", Friday - May 1, 2009 10:00 PM

Judy,
Do you recognize anyone in this picture? My nephew is in the 7th grade and did not want to take an usual escort, so he asked could he escort Duncan. Duncan was the hit of the ballgame. He loved all the attention. This is the page from the children's annual.

Duncan loves children. Could be that he thinks he is one himself. I am sure that no one will ever tell him any different.

Hope all of your babies are doing as well as mine.

Truly, Sharon

Judy is a PuppyGal and always has been -- bringing in strays, thrown away puppies and other creature for the last 55 years, we will have to assume she was five years old before she brought in her first one. When she was four years old she went missing and hours later they found her under her Grandparent's old country farmhouse. She had snuggled up next to their big white dog and fell asleep. She and their eight yard dogs roamed the 100 acre farm, everyone content that the dogs would protect her. While other little girls played with dolls, PuppyGal and the dogs followed behind her Papa as he plowed the fields, feed the goats or milked the cows. Life changed, Papa passed away, she lived full time in the city, got a good education and became an executive for a National Corporation. One day she decided they were robbing her of her life so she told them "I'm Through Now" and returned to the country and her first love, dogs....smashed faced, snorting Bulldogs.
