English Bulldog Puppy Pictures Eve's Litter More Pictures - Click Here Eve's 2006 Litter Page Li'l Cookie Giving Puppy Kisses" Video Made 3/20/08 Monday - March 31, 2008 8:30 PM Rain, rain go away, and come back another day, we need a few days of sunshine, please!!! We got our chores completed, 9 Brugmansia (Angel's Trumpets) and 3 roses planted, I'm so tired and sore that I'm a pitiful, whinny brat. lol lol Speaking of brats, Li'l Cookie and Cherry Cookie are brats. They bark to go out, they bark for food, they sit right at my feet when I'm in the kitchen because they know I'll drop them something. Please don't spoil your Bully as bad as these two have been spoiled. We have to rotate "Mama Judy Time" but these two girls are opposed to sharing attention with the other Bullies, strays that came to stay or rescues, they have to be in the middle of whatever is going on at the time. Meanwhile there is Melanie who is exactly the same way about Bob. Rush Linbaugh just thinks he invented chaos. At 1 AM this morning, awaken by thunder earlier, I'm wide awake and can't go back to sleep. I sneak downstairs to see if Bob has an open bottle of wine, thinking a little bit might be a good sleep aid. The second I stepped on the living room floor after having come down the stairs quietly hopeful I won't wake up "our gang", imagine my surprise when a voice called out "Jimmy Joe". It was one of the cockatiels calling out his name, over and over again to get my attention. I told him it was dark outside and he was suppose to be asleep. lol lol I couldn't find an open bottle of wine so I said Good Night to Jimmy Joe and went back up the stairs. I'm done for the night. - Judy Sunday - March 30, 2008 3:10 PM Bringing March to an end with wonderful pictures of puppies going home with their new owners. Drummer Man, now known as Sully, going home with Jess & Ken
Melody, now known as Molly, going home with the Bolton Family
The children are going to hate me for posting this last picture because their eyes are closed, but it was a good picture of Melody, Denise and me. I'm the one holding Melody giving my "puppy care lecture". lol lol Sunday - March 30, 2008 5:30 PM Goodness "it's been raining cats and dogs" here for two days, but I can assure you that I turned down all the buckets so they wouldn't catch any critters, we have enough. lol lol After the Puppy Pickup, we went to Sam's for dog food and then stopped at the liquor store, for Bob a bottle of wine and a bottle of Evan Williams Whisky for my asthma. I've tried a couple of other brands but they didn't work. The Evan Williams dilates the bronchial tube fast .. just one tablespoon in two tablespoons of water or coke, hold my breath so I can't taste it and within minutes I'm breathing better. For me, it's much better than an inhaler which make me jittery. I tried some new medicine, pill form, on Saturday but it did me the same way as the inhaler, plus messed with my heartbeat. Our next stop was at a thrift store. I got sheets for dog and puppy beds plus stuffed animals for the puppies. I totally forgot about looking for t-shirts. I have a good supply but I'm always on the lookout for more. Speaking of my asthma, Bob went under the house to check the drier vent Wednesday and you would not believe the gunk in it!!! It was wet and molded big time, no wonder I have asthma attacks when I'm downstairs but not upstairs. I can tell the difference already but I'm still having some attacks, due to all the rain and being around people with smoke on their hair and clothes yesterday in the stores. I'm hopeful that the attacks will just taper off. From what I read it will take a good bit of cleaning and a couple of months for the mold spores to get out of the inside air. To my friends, please forgive me for not responding to your "hello and how are you emails", know I care, appreciate you and think of you often. Some of you make me laugh, some of you make me think and some of you should volunteer to take some of these dang Lily bulbs which I've yet to plant!! (lol lol) I'm down to 3 unanswered other emails, just don't know how to respond so I'll go mull over those for a few minutes and maybe I'll be inspired. - Judy Saturday - March 29, 2008 9:10 PM These pictures are for Todd.....
Saturday - March 29, 2008 6:00 PM Our day started at 4 AM and isn't over yet, but since I didn't post yesterday I took time out to let you all know we're just fine but busier than "the dickens" and I've about worn myself out. I started off with 79 emails yesterday and inbetween chores I've managed to answer all but 17. I will have to admit that more than one went in "Did Not Respond File". Most were from people asking me multiple broad area questions that would take too much of my time to answer. I don't know why people think they have the right to ask me everything under the sun, they don't have one of my "babies" they bought from another breeder, duh??? If the puppy is sick I will try to assist them, but I'm about to the point of considering all other questions off limits, for anyone who does not have one of my Bullies. I've had to give up most of my plants due limited time and energy, so I'm sure not going to give it (time and energy) away to people I don't know, when 99 out of 100 don't even bother to say "thank you". (That's my rant for the day. lol lol) I'm off to finish off those 17 emails, feed and clean up after the puppies, while keeping loads going in both the dryer and washer .... then I'm going to fall into bed without supper, I'll be too tired to eat. I hope your weekend is going good!!! Remember to take time to tell those you care for that you love them! - Judy PS Two of the puppies went to their new homes this morning. Tomorrow I'll post pictures and tell you all about today. Thursday - March 27, 2008 5:30 PM I'm in the process of taking, uploading and posting pictures of Eve's puppies. Thursday - March 27, 2008 2:30 PM Great Day in the morning!!!! I sent out emails yesterday to the 4 people who had the puppies reserved giving them the time etc for Saturday's Puppy Pickup ... two of them wrote back to tell me they wouldn't be able to get the puppies. One's husband just got laid off and no reason given for the other one. I can't tell you how frustrating that is. I could have placed the puppies with other people but NOW it is absolutely the time for them to go to their new homes. Needless to say the people are not getting their deposits back and I'll never agree to let them reserve a puppy again. I can't believe it, they both already have one of my Bulldogs and I thought they were friends. Oh well!! I'll put this behind me and move on. Life has definitely turned into an ASAP (As Soon As Possible) mode .... I've got to get those puppies placed ASAP. Those stupid Lily bulbs have started sprouting in the packages which means I've got to get them in the ground ASAP!!! Weeds have started growing in all my flower beds so I need to get them pulled out ASAP. BUT I can't get anything done because all my time goes toward taking care of the puppies. I need to get myself cloned ... oops not a good idea Bob couldn't stand two of me, "Honey will you open this for me, Honey will you build me another raised flower bed or Honey will you move this box for me." lol lol I feel like Lucy (Lucille Ball) in the Candy Factory skit. I'm off and running. - Judy Wednesday - March 26, 2008 9:30 AM We have a day worker here today so things are hectic with us trying to keep him productive and at the same time catch up on chores. The high today is suppose to be 70F so I can turn on the attic fan to air out the house and it's a good thing I can, because I mixed in a generous portion of cooked cabbage to "our gang's" soaked dog food this morning. I suspect we'll have lots of stinky gas passing come early afternoon. They love cabbage, even Melanie, rescued German Shepherd, was picking out the cabbage to eat first. lol lol I should have thought to mix in some canned pumpkin to see if it would offset the gas. Also in their soaked food was a can of dog food, plus minced garlic sold in a jar at Wal-Mart. I've fed all my grown critters garlic for the last 50 years and I'm not about to stop now, they love garlic. I just do not believe it is bad for them. I think it was some researcher trying to make a "name" for themselves. I'm off to clean up the puppy pool and get me some puppy kisses. - Judy Tuesday - March 25, 2008 7:30 PM We took Eve's puppies in for their "well puppy physical" this afternoon. Harmony has a tiny, tiny (pin hole size) hernia which the vet suggests her new vet monitor and when she is spayed that the vet repair it then if it needs it. Almost all of them had a small baby shaped bump on the roof of their mouth just behind their front teeth from nursing so hard ... and that they did. He pointed it out but showed no concern. The heaviest pup was Drummer Man weighing in at 14.5 pounds, the lightest was Melody weighing in at 11.5 pounds .... The vet asked what I had been feeding them ... soaked Purina Puppy Chow with a sprinkling of human baby formula. I told ya'll all they did was eat, poop, take a nap, play a little then complete the process again. They are definitely chunks of lead. lol lol I'll be sending out emails to the new owners tomorrow in regard to Saturday's puppy pick up, shot records, food, water, etc. Right now I'm going to bed, 6 AM came awfully early for me this morning, so I turned back over and went to sleep as soon as I realized Bob was up taking care of the babies. Some very positive news is I'm no longer having a elevated temperature, it has gradually worked it's way down to normal!!! I'm still having asthma attacks when I'm performing physical labor but not as frequent so I'm getting more work completed. May you have a wonderful night. - Judy Monday - March 24, 2008 9:30 PM We've been on the road most of the day, made two different trips into two different towns and we just got back home from the last one. I'm exhausted and am more than ready for the some of the puppies to go to their new homes this weekend. The plants made it through the 32F low we had last night and hopefully that will be the end of our temperature that low. We won't be having any more puppies any time soon, Reba had a false pregnancy and lead me right up to her last due date thinking there was one or two puppies because her mammary glands were so swollen ... demanding Ms Heifer is so funny. I'm off to get some much needed rest. - Judy Sunday - March 23, 2008 8:00 PM ![]() Click Here! In reference to the plants, I decided to do nothing. It's now predicted to go down to 31F and if it kills them it just kills them. I don't have the time or energy to move them back into the house and then move them back out the next day. We're exhausted and are getting ready for bed. I hope the video makes you smile.- Judy Saturday - March 22, 2008 5:00 PM Oops forgot another "Lucy" happening .... Up with puppies in the middle of the night and unable to go back to sleep, I looked at the Weather Forecast. It's suppose to go down to 29F Sunday night. If it does that means it will kill the peach blooms again this year and all those plants on the porch will freeze. I'm going to have to give this situation a lot of thought. Saturday - March 22, 2008 3:00 PM We've been having a "Lucy" week ... yesterday the web host moved my website to a different server with more security, which promptly knocked out the Puppy Application and would not allow me to upload any updated information. Bob is still working on my security problem but he has corrected the application function. Earlier today, we went to Wal-Mart for his prescriptions which were not ready, there was confusion over his record ended up he had two in their system, so we had to wait, wait, wait and then about 4 miles down the road he decided to take one of his pills, but there weren't any containers of pills in the nicely stapled package, we both started laughing really hard when Bob said, "at least it isn't a pig on the porch". By the time we got back to Wal-Mart, I remarked it was time for the pharmacy to be closed for lunch, dang!!! Bob spotted the pharmacist walking by the coke machines so we pulled over to tell him the dilemma. He and I went back into the store to get the prescriptions. Of course he apologized several times and said he was so glad we weren't upset, that's when told him what Bob said and briefly told him the pig story. lol lol When we got home, two men had been waiting on us for 30 minutes or so. They were here to give us a price on roofing Bob's shop. High winds had torn off a couple of strips of the tin roofing and we want it totally replaced with shingles. The man who initially roofed the shop used the wrong type of screws so they were pulling out. Bob shook hands on the verbal contract and they are to start tearing off the tin on Friday. I hope you have a Joyful Easter celebration. - Judy Thursday - March 20, 2008 11:00 AM The episode with the pig and additional storms passing though our area caused my asthma to really go into over-drive. At 2 AM Wednesday morning, I woke poor Bob up to tell him he had to buy the pig because they were talking about turning her into sausage. I was so tanked up on asthma medicine and worry that I couldn't go to sleep until 4 AM then slept until Noon. It didn't rain last night so I'm feeling better today. I've taken a short video and a couple of pictures that I'll post a little later today. I hope your week is going well and they you are ready for the Holiday weekend. - Judy Tuesday - March 18, 2008 5:00 PM This morning I posted "it's time to eliminate stress" but I didn't know what real stress was. I heard this gosh awful commotion ... strays that came to stay and the "Ditch Puppies", now grown puppies that we pulled out of a cave in a ditch barking like crazy. Stepping onto the back porch, I quickly retreated into the house, as a 300-400 pound pig being chased by the 3 "strays that came to stay" jumped up on the back porch. I then thought those crazy dogs are going to get killed, so back outside I went. Meanwhile Bob was not in sight and not in the house. When I peeked out the door it was standing between the comforter covered crates that are the strays dens, face out, with it's behind up against the French doors that open into the bathroom. Between it and me were a crate and a small plant potting rack. Those crazy dogs were steady barking and nipping at it. I started "barking out" "NO" so off they ran into the yard like there were others. I had my camera close at hand so I snapped pictures of it, but my hands were shaking so bad I'm sure they will be blurred.
Was not my pig, I don't know anyone around here who has pigs, it might be a wild pig,
cause I've heard rumors that there are some just below the Mississippi Tennessee Stateline
which isn't but a half mile or so away.
Along comes slow walkng Bob, with Peanut on a lead and Melanie close by. They had been out walking. I screamed for him to secure Peanut and Melanie and hurry!!! He came casually walking toward the house and I hollered "do you see that pig on the porch". At that point his pace quickened as I ordered, directed or suggested would have been nicer words but I was ordering him to catch the "strays" which I had backed off the huffing, puffing, slobbery mouthed pig but they were only 10 feet or so from the porch and Dumpy kept dashing in to get in the pigs face. I'm so thankful that the "Ditch Puppies" were in a dog run or everything on the back porch would have been destroyed by the fight that would have ensued, 6 dogs and a 300-400 pound pig!! I snatched up the telephone and called 911, thinking I don't even have a gun to shoot the thing if necessary. They were going to put in an emergency call to Animal Control. I started calling everyone I could think of telling them there was a giant pig on the back porch and asked if they knew anyone with pigs but came up with nothing. Not long after the "strays" were put up, the pig got off the porch but wasn't going anywhere. That is when I noticed it had a nose ring which equals domestic pig and that it was a mama pig referred to as a sow. What does Bob do, gets the pig some Purina Large Size Puppy Food and a bucket of water. I look out the back door and he's sitting down on the porch not 3 feet from the pig trying to talk it into coming to him. I opened the backdoor and asked him to please stand up in case that pig decided to bolt. I didn't want him killed by a run away pig. While the pig was distracted by the dog food, Bob suggested he go to some of the neighbors that we don't know and ask if they are missing a pig. I told him if I was going to pig sit, I had to have a tiny glass of wine to keep my knees from knocking together so hard. He wasn't gone long. The baby sitter at the house across the road where the donkey lives said they had a mama pig and 4 piglets, Bob dashed to their barn to find it empty. The baby sitter dashed inside to call the owners to come get the pig. Meanwhile I'm wondering if any other person has had a giant pig pursued by 3 dogs running straight at them and then settle in on their back porch ..... the pig owners and the sheriff deputy arrived at the same time causing the pig to bolt. The two men with lassos went in pursuit of the pig and the sheriff's deputy remarked he had asked the dispatcher why she wanted him to come out since he wasn't a pig catcher, she told him the Animal Control person was out of town. So now there are 4 white piglets out in the woods somewhere. This surely has been a Lucy Day (I love Lucy). - Judy ![]() This pig is standing next to a 4 foot tall crate/kennel, big pig, but it surely looked bigger in real life coming at me. lol lol Tuesday - March 18, 2008 10:40 AM Gracious, it's crazy around here and the stress is definitely making my asthma worse, so it's time to eliminate stress. We're monitoring Reba for signs of going into labor and she's being very demanding ... I smell eggs, I smell turkey, I want all the food. lol lol I'm getting nutty phone calls, people begging for Melody or Rhythm and even telling me they read on my website that I wanted to be contacted via email because talking on the phone took time away from the "babies". Do they really think I would give them favorable consideration after they didn't honor my request?? I've turned down at least 25 people for various reasons and from some of them I've gotten back really hateful emails. We did get all the plants moved out to the porches late yesterday. I told Bob just getting them out of the house, made me feel I could breath better. They look so good on the porches but I'm not going to bring them back in the house for another winter because I think they contribute to my asthma. I'm wanting a small sunhouse for them this winter. I still can't figure out where I'm going to plant those lily bulbs. lol lol Oh the lady who already has one of my bullies and reserved Hontytonk man, hurt her back again and decided she couldn't give him the care he would need, therefore I have 3 puppies to place. I'm having a hard time trusting my judgement on the placement of the puppies because I'm on the asthma medication. The only time I've made a bad decision was when I was sick. Well I'm off to feed the pups an early lunch and hang up more wash. I hope the weather where you are is as nice as it is here. - Judy Monday - March 17, 2008 11:45 AM I was forced to take yesterday off, it has rained so much and the humidity is so high that I absolutely couldn't breath ... and I'm a "tough ole bird". We've had so much rain that the ground is saturated to the point of making squishing sounds when I walk outside and you would not believe the grit, leaves and mud the critters have tracked into the house The creeks and rivers are out of their banks which has caused the closing of some roads in low areas, but I'm sure the rain has replenished the underground water levels which were lower than normal due to the drought last summer. So I'll just lay low until the humidity goes back down and meanwhile be thankful for the rain. Reba is due to have her puppies between NOW and the 21st, but I don't think she is going to have more than one or two. She's just not big at all, but of course I've been wrong before and it may end up being a "false pregnancy". I hope you are having a wonderful day and are determined to smile at everyone around you. - Judy Saturday - March 15, 2008 9:45 PM This crazy woman is about to move all the house plants out on the porches, that is if I can get my asthma under control long enough to do it. I decided I would take the chance of not having another freeze although we did last year. Remember it killed all our peach blossoms and the farmers had such a bad time because their crops were up and growing. "Our Gang" has gotten so spoiled to laying around in the house that they are all getting too chunky, due to lack of exercise. We take them out and just like yoyos they want back in. I'll have to admit part of that is my fault because I always have a "goodie" waiting for them when they come in ... deep fried pig skins (cracklins), boiled eggs, a chunk of turkey. This afternoon Sweet Tater Pie was the first one back in the house and she went in search of everyone's "treat". Then Melanie, rescued German Shepherd, came in and did the same thing. All I have to do is say "ainttttttt" and they stop but if I'm not watchful they will eat all the treats. Melanie is smart and minds wonderfully, but she is manic about being with Bob and wants to be the Queen Bee which will eventually get her in trouble with the Bullies that think they are the Queen Bee. We have to be careful. We cooked a turkey night before last. I don't like meat but Bob has been munching on it making sandwiches and such, plus we've been adding chunks to the softened kibble we feed "our gang". I bet many of you can guess what is coming next ... this afternoon I fed little bitsy pieces to the puppies. At first they wouldn't open their mouths for it because they didn't know what it was, so I forced a tiny piece between clinched teeth and once it got on the taste buds, they became very anxious for more. Such fun I'm having with this litter of "babies". Good Night All! I wish for you love, health and the ability to smile all the time. - Judy Saturday - March 15, 2008 5:45 AM We're in the mist of another storm. I haven't experienced cannons being fired, therefore the best description I can give you is that it's like a bunch of drunk rednecks trying to see how much noise they could create firing off muzzle loader shotguns. Rain and hail are pelting the upstairs bedroom windows and when I first woke up I thought something was wrong with my right ear, it was if the popping was due to the airplane cabin pressure. The popping was actually hail hitting the window. Friday - March 14, 2008 7:30 PM "Li'l Cookie visits Eve's puppies" ![]() Click Here! I thought this video was so funny. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Last night was another bad night for sleeping because we had terrible storms. I got up around 7 AM, got a cup of coffee, then turned to Bob and asked would he mind too much if I went back to bed. However I didn't get much sleep because the telephone kept ringing. I didn't answer it but it's ringing was so disturbing that I finally got back up. It was not a good day for me to talk on the telephone because I was tired, my asthma was really kicking up due to the rain, and lack of sleep made me grouchy ... but I did, the man who called said he read on my website I liked to communicate by email, but ..... I was going to be nice and I was until it was obvious he had not bothered to even look at the home page, evidently went straight to the telephone number. I spend a lot of time updating this website so I don't have to waste time I should be spending with the critters. It was when he said "well KIDDO how much are you asking for the pups" ... I told him there was no further reason to continue the conversation. He ask me if he had offended me to which I replied yes and hung up. I didn't like his attitude and then the "asking price" normally leads to haggle over price and that is something I do not do, plus I get very offended. I know he was probably calling me a "female dog". When I hung up, I sat on the stool beside the puppy pool and feed them tiny bits of boiled egg which made me smile because they were so eager for MORE. Yes, I'm going to have them rotten before they go to their new homes. I also fed them dry Purina Puppy Chow today between meals and they loved to crunch it. I'm on my way to bed and I hope I can sleep all night. I hope you have a good night. - Judy Thursday - March 13, 2008 8:00 PM We didn't get much sleep last night ... we were up with puppies, plus the grown bullies woke us up several times barking. At the 3 AM puppy feeding, Bob finally figured out the problem, the radio station we had on for them was running commercials with kids laughing and screaming. Ms Sweet Tater Pie wanted to "get" whatever was making those children scream. We made the 3 hour round trip to get dog food. One of us normally stays here but we needed to get out of the house together. We feed the puppies right before we left but still rushed getting back to them because they eat every 3 hours. Eve has finally stopped barking to be allowed in with them to nurse so weaning is complete. We've given them their first shot and will be taking them to the vet soon for their well puppy physical. I'm about to prop my feet up for the night, Bob has puppy duty!! - Judy Wednesday - March 12, 2008 7:45 PM Beware, this posting could turn into gobblygook or is it gobblyguck", since they are both made up words I don't suppose it matters which one I use ... but I'm sure you "can't read no gobblygook". lol lol We've been going strong since 6 AM and our tail feathers are certainly dragging, but it makes me real proud that I could work that long that hard ... well I didn't work as hard as Bob but mine was constant. I've got emails to answer and lots of other stuff to do but these pups are keeping me too busy to do anything other than the basics and look after them. All day I've been mumbling, 129 lily bulbs, as if it weren't true but there they are sitting on the table right outside on the porch at the back door. lol lol I took Li'l Cookie out with me for a walk around the yard area to see where in the world I was going to plant them. She was in heaven, 72F a bent cola can in her mouth following in my foot steps. Ever so often just to make sure I remembered that she was there she would bump me with her chest on my calf. Bob and I took a late afternoon 10 minute break on the side porch were there is a light weight wrought iron table and chairs. Melanie was with us and couldn't stand it that one of us was not petting her. Finally she jumped off the porch, found a ball and started rolling on the ground with it. Mr. Cat who was lazed out in the shade of a porch column merely looked at her like she didn't know how to act. Sunny afternoons were to be spent, laying in the sun until you were toasty, then moving into a shaded area to cool off, along the same principle as a sauna. I'm off to bed hopefully. - Judy Tuesday - March 11, 2008 5:00 PM We've been working hard trying to get caught up on chores, plus take care of the puppies. The high temperature was 59°F with a very mild wind so it was a great day to dry clothes and dog beds on the line, turn on the attic fan and open windows to air out the house. The grown critters all wanted to go out and we let them stay out for several hours which was nice. It gave us a little break, they are so demanding when they are closed up in the house. And then .... my eyes fell on the box of 129 Lily bulbs that arrived Friday. If I had been in my right mind I would not have purchased that many bulbs but when my fever got up to 103°F, I didn't have any sense!! lol lol Now I'm going to have to figure out where in the world I'm going to plant them. I'll probably have to order a dump truck full of soil for new beds and no telling how much that will cost. I'm doing this planning, after having surveyed earlier today the damage the deer have done to the new growth on the lilies and iris which I already have. Is this a "Lucy Thing" or should I check my temperature?? lol lol I hear the pups getting a little too rough with their play, their attention span isn't very long so I have to keep tell them "NO" in a low, deep voice. Pennies in a coke can works well...- Judy Sunday - March 9, 2008 9:50 PM Eve's Litter More Pictures - Click Here I'm going to post all Eve's female pictures here as I finish them.

Saturday - March 8, 2008 9:30 PM We're definitely doing something wrong in regard to taking pictures and videos of Eve's Puppies. They have all turned out blurred or much too dark so by the time they are lightened via the photo processing software, the details are vague, like their wrinkles color of their coats etc. It started snowing lightly yesterday afternoon and by this morning there was 3 inches. Bob even took pictures of Li'l Cookie in the snow but they were blurred and too light. He's really frustrated with the cameras and himself. Oh well tomorrow is another day. We moved the puppies up to a larger and deeper pool this morning because Ramblin Man was out rambling around. He was the only one, but once he tasted the freedom to roam he didn't want to stay in the pool. lol lol The puppies are little piglets, they pack away the mushy food and are still nursing. Poor Eve stands up most of the time to let them nurse now because they are so big they squeeze one another out. When she's standing up they will flip over on their backs under her to nurse. It is really cute. I told her it was about time she weaned them but she just looked at me like "they are my babies". There are female dogs that you can take one look at and conclude they had a litter of nursing pups because they looked skinny or underfed .... not my Bully Mamas they are chunky through out the nursing. If you ask Eve what she had for supper tonight she would tell you soaked Purina Puppy Chow with a generous portion of turkey stew poured over the top. She will also tell you she eats big bowls of food (5 cups each) 3-4 times a day, gets at least 2 bowls of PuppyGal's Special Bully Mama Milk Shakes a day, her vitamin pills, treats such as boiled eggs or chunks of meat, plus she always has access to a bowl of dry Purina Puppy Chow. She is fed all she wants to eat and can get pretty demanding about wanting goodies when we're cooking or eating ... chunky heifer!! I'm shutting down for the night and going to bed. Bob has just fed the puppies so that means we have at least 3 hours before Eve will be barking to tell us she wants to feed them. - Judy Friday - March 7, 2008 8:30 PM Don't feed your Bullies boiled eggs immediately after peeling them ... they can recognize the sound of egg shells breaking and immediately start to bark and whine for them. So if you are boiling eggs for tuna salad, egg salad or whatever, they don't understand!! They have a direct connection in their brain that says "shells breaking I want mine". - Judy Friday - March 7, 2008 6:30 PM From: Jennifer Sent: Thursday, March 06, 2008 8:34 AM Subject: Green Beans & Asparagus Hi Judy- I just watched the video of Lil’ Cookie eating asparagus and thought I would tell you about Bella’s love for Green Beans!!! She will eat them frozen, raw or cooked- it doesn’t matter. I found this out by accidentally dropping a frozen green bean on the floor and she fought me for it! Of course she won and the love story began. Now every time we have green beans she knows it and she begs or should I say insists on enjoying them with us. She will bark for her bean – get one and eat it- and before she has it swallowed good will bark for her next one. It really is hilarious. I thought I remembered a journal entry where you had given one of your bullies a green bean and they hated it so I wanted to share our story of a different emotion! J How funny!! I love the picture. You'll have to get Andy to take a video to post on YouTube.
Thursday - March 6, 2008 1:30 PM I've gotten several emails wanting to know why I fell ..... I have a bad right leg and foot, once I lose my balance I can't recover, so down on my behind I go. The light fixture over the staircase has gone out, light bulbs only last days before they are shot. The reason is the suspended fixture can't withstand the force of the attic fan which I use often, therefore if the wind is strong and from the north, it pops against the wall. I found a fixture which was much heavier and felt it could withstand the air force, but Bob had not gotten around to switching them out, the staircase was dark, my foot slipped, no recovery and I couldn't tell what action I should take because it was dark. He feels so bad because I've told him time and again, I'm going to fall on the stairs if you don't change out the fixture, I can't see. I'm so sore I can't lay down in the bed or sit up for very long, so mainly I'm pacing. BUT it is OK it's just soreness. I'm the one who tells other people to go to the doctor because I can tell they have a fracture, I don't have anything broken or fractured, just sore. I am monitoring one place which could possibly turn into a blood clot on other people ... but I'm almost a free bleeder (vinegar being one of my favorite indulgences), so I'm not actually that concerned about a clot, it's just a big long but not too compact knot at present. Such is life ... I love my Big Daddy, my puppies, my Bullies, my strays that came to stay, puppies we pulled out of a cave in a ditch and the rescues we've taken in because we absolutely could not stand the thought of them being "put down". - Judy PS Animals, like people, need an environment which allows them to be wonderful. PPSS If you have dry skin, apply olive oil, extra virgin or vaseline. For me olive oil works best. My skin absorbs the olive oil faster than the vaseline .... keep applying until you are gooie, worst case is you will have to toss the sheets, but I have found that if I wash the sheets in the morning with Tide and clorox, everything comes out alright. Wednesday - March 5, 2008 9:00 PM My ear stopped hurting and I got over being grouchy!! Then last night going downstairs to surprise Bob with a piece of homemade peach pie warm from the oven, with a scoop of ice cream on top, I fell down the last three steps, landing on my behind. When I screamed I thought the bullies were going to tear the house down to get to me, good thing they couldn't jump over the kiddy gates. I was so lucky that I didn't break any bones but I'm sore already and probably will have trouble walking tomorrow. I told Bob I wanted to avoid the soreness if possible so we went to Walmart for supplies this afternoon. While he shopped, I did a lot of flat surface walking. I don't know if it will help or not but I surely hope so. Eve's puppies are beautiful and I'll be sure to take a video tomorrow. For those of you who are getting one of them, they really cried wanting Eve's boiled eggs when they smelled them. All the Bullies are crazy about boiled eggs, so I sometime use them for treats, giving the grown Bullies a quarter of one at a time. Li'l Cookie told me she like boiled eggs better than "spargus". ![]() Click Here For - Video of Li'l Cookie, she loves asparagus!!! Tuesday - March 4, 2008 8:00 PM Please go to the below website and vote for Bella! Click Here - We Love You Bella!!! From: Patrick Sent: Monday, March 03, 2008 1:50 PM You're site is a great resource for all bully owners, so thank you for being so generous with information. I have a question about my bulldog-almost 10 months old and not yet neutered. He is generally well behaved, except sometimes he likes to snatch things in the hope that I will pursue him. I don't chase him as this will encourage the behavior. However, if he snatches something of value, I have no choice. When I approach him with the item in his mouth, he gets really possessive and growls. Do you have any advice on how to handle this behavioral problem? Thanks very much. Response: From Judy Please read this article, especially the section on "The Will To Dominate" Puppy Training You must win the confrontations you have described. If you are unable to stop his aggressive behavior immediately, please seek the assistance of a professional trainer. - Judy Monday - March 3, 2008 6:45 PM Oops I remembered the picturers I hadn't uploaded so I resized and editied them, although some are still too dark. Oh well, I hope they make you smile. Please click to enter. I am so grouchy!! My ear has hurt for two days, but no fever. It has rained here off and on all day which really impacts us getting our chores accomplished. Then the 2 male "strays that came to stay" got into a fight when I put them both in the same den and wouldn't stop when Bob told them "NO". Something is wrong with one of them, which I don't know, but it might be Dumpy, his "look" as been a little off lately. Tomorrow I must give them a mini physical .... go over every inch of their bodies with my hands to see if either has been injured then take their temperature, etc. Because it's been raining the Bullies have been in a demanding mode and Melanie has been acting up wanting to be with Bob outside. Just imagine a group of kids who have been cooped up in the house for a week with a Mama who's not wanting to hear them complain and you'll know exactly what is going on here. I've fed everyone ... now I'm going to get a book and go read it in the bed. If they start acting up again, I'm going to cover my head and read my book with a flashlight. - Judy Sunday - March 2, 2008 7:30 PM I've always thought "dancing" could change the world and here is a prime example. This video makes my heart sing!!! Click here - Judy Sunday - March 2, 2008 6:00 PM It was crazy around here today .... not a day to be lazy but I sure was. I'm trying to get sick again so I chilled out and asked Bob to handle situations as they arose. lol The Ditch Puppies are about grown but are worse "Chickie Dogs" than Li'l Cookie. We had company stop by and I couldn't believe how they acted, they barked like brave big dogs, then ran like crazy because they were scared to death. I couldn't get them to come out from under the porch even after the company left. Finally with treats I had them acting normal, then the neighbor who target practices on Sunday afternoons, started shooting his gun and back under the porch they went. I will admit it is loud I think it must be a muzzle loader ... whew!!! The temperature got up to 74 F so all sorts of people were out and about, coming down our dead end road and turning around at our drive. This caused the "strays that came to stay" to bark and take off down the drive, calling the Ditch Puppies to follow, which they did at a very fast pace until they saw moving cars, then back they came to the porch but were still barking which in turn set off all the other critters .... even the birds got into the act. lol lol Tomorrow, I'm going to have a long talk with all these critters and tell them how they are suppose to act, like it would do some good. Say Good Night Gracie - Judy PS If you find yourself feeling a little blue, I suggest listening to The Essential Paul Simon. I was researching the internet via Google for an African Woman's hair wrap for a friend who had chemo and in the process ended up on Voice of America website and started listening to the African songs. I recognized two of them as being very near to the ones Paul Simon recorded. I went from there to listening to Paul Simon The Essential. It perked me right up!! Saturday - March 1, 2008 9:30 PM We had temperatures in the high 50's with sunshine and a mild wind today. I opened the windows and turned on the attic fan for a few minutes to air the house out. I washed dog beds (sheets) and hung them on the clothes line to dry. Puppy sheets and t-shirts which I lay down over poop were also washed and line dried. I love my puppies although they are so much work. I'm constantly monitoring them for rough playing, pooping and being hungry. Bob says I just "love my babies", but you would be surprised at the amount of care they need. While Eve was outside and I was taking the other bullies outside to potty, we made trips to the puppy pool. Reba just couldn't stand it, she did the Bully Butt Wiggle so hard and so long, sniffing their puppy breath. Oh no, then when we went past the van she wanted in the back cargo door .... to go get her own puppies. Wait Reba you aren't due until at least March 17 and it probably won't be until March 20. lol lol Bullies are a lot smarter than we give them credit for being and I'm sure they think "humans are so hard to train". The lady with the gas leak is Twyla of Tulsa, OK. I have a gardening friend who spoke with her last night and since most of her trees were downed by the ice storms this winter, he is sending her vegetable seeds. Gary is such a sweetheart and his wife is a wonderful lady. They live in Louisville, KY. Be kind, be gentle and be Blessed. - Judy Click Here Judy's Garden 2005!!
