Puppy Gal Welcomes You To
Judy's Journal....

I started this feature for friends and family to answer their "What's going on?" emails, therefore, I probably tell too much, but you are welcome to laugh, cry and sigh with us.

I received this in an email from a friend yesterday and wanted to share it with all of you, however it was really long so I shortened it.

The Blind Man....
.. a blind man sitting on the steps of a building with a hat by his feet and a sign that read: "I am blind, please help."

A creative publicist walking by stopped to observe.. very few coins .... without permission, he rewrote the sign.

He returned ..that afternoon.. hat was full of bills and coins. The blind man recognized his footsteps and ... wanted to know what he had written.

The publicist responded: "I just wrote the message a little differently." ....
"Today is Spring and I cannot see."

The lesson here for me personally was; if I want a positive response to what I have to say, the words I use are extremely important. I shall return a little later, hopefully with lots of pictures. - Judy

I got my passport in the mail yesterday so I'm ready to go whenever my friends are. It's possible the man won't be able to adjust his schedule therefore my female friend and I may go without him. I'm sure everything will be fine, I got an email from the private hospital yesterday offering to make motel arrangements. I'm going to ask if they can arrange transportation. What I would like to do is: fly in get picked up at the airport, taken to the motel, then picked up for my appointment at the hospital. Sounds easy so I'm sure it won't be.. lol lol

I'm off to take care of the "babies" I hear one crying. - Judy

Whew Doggie, Monday Morning and the temperature is coming down. The high is supposed to be 71 F with a low tonight of 37 F and most of the week the highs are predicted to be in the 50's with lows in the middle 30's. We've had crazy hot temps the last few days and I surely hope it is not an indication of what the summer is going to be like. I suppose I should pull myself out of the bed and see if I can't be productive this morning.

I hope all the pictures I posted yesterday will make you smile, that's the reason I keep this Journal updated; to give you a giggle, smile or warm fuzzy feeling.-Judy

A few words of explanation about the following email. Kennedy is the daughter of Kim & Jim shown in the below pictures. Zoe is Cracklin' Rosie, Delta Dawn & Jazzman's female puppy.

Sent: Sunday, March 12, 2006 4:58 PM

Hi Ms. Judy! My name is Kennedy and I want to tell you thank you so much for letting my parents buy Zoe for me. I know you are very picky about who you will let have your babies and I am very flattered you chose my family. I have worked very hard to get a bulldog and I have read everything on your website. I promise I will love and take very good care of her. My parents surprised me because I didn't think I would have enough money to buy a puppy for a long time. I would do it again, but I am really glad I don't have to set up another Lemonade stand. we live in the country and it's hard to sell Lemonade around here. I tried to set up in the morning before my neighbors left, but they all had coffee. In the afternoons they would stop by. And one day the kids that live down the road that are home- schooled came by. I think they were learning about money that day because they all wanted exact change and didn't leave me a tip in my jar. I really didn't mind because it was Summer and they were still in schol. Since they are home shcooled, they are always in school. I may not have got a tip, but at least I was not in school.
I am sending a picture my mom took of me and Zoe sleeping. She is sintimental like that and I sent my favorite picture of me and Zoe. We are looking at each other.

I love her so much. Thank you for choosing us. I look forward to stayuing in touch with you so you can see Zoe grow up with me. My mom said you are giong to Thailand. Please be careful and I hope you come back well.

I'm sorry about your friend Lynne and I hope Big Red is ok. I'm sure he misses his chicken.

Sincerely,
Kennedy

Noel -
"My Wild Irish Rose" .... Is ready to party!!!
(a.k.a. The One-Eyed Monster) From Miss B & Jazzman's 10/31/05 Litter

The cyst which erupted causing her to lose her eye, also caused her to be deformed on her left side. When she was 3 weeks old we made the decision to help her live her life as best she could for as long as she could.

At age 5 months she's a small Bully with a VERY independent attitude and high intelligence. She does NOT like to cuddle, prefers playing with her toys or pouncing on her stuff animals. She loves to run and play in the yard so we had to 'get over' being too protective. Her little heart is content to be able to follow Bob all day.

If she could speak, she would ask you not to feel sorry for her because she doesn't know she's different.... we didn't tell her. I hope this picture makes you smile.

Good Morning!!
I'm better than I was but it's because I've taken a super high dose of antibiotics not prescribed by my doctor so he's probably going to be upset with me. I'm calling first thing in the morning for an appointment to see him.

I sincerely hope each of you are having a good morning and if you aren't I hope you will take action to change the way your day is going.....

"Even when we don't think we do, we have choices. How many times have you heard someone say, "It's not like I have a choice", or "What choice do I have". These are statements coming from someone who is content to have no control over what happens to them."

So somehow I poofed the pictures of Kate and Mr Cat and before I realized the problem I had overlaid the original on the web server.. it's one of those days. lol

Mr Cat loves Kate...
Whenever he sees her in the yard he runs to her and starts rubbing and purring. She likes the attention but as you will see in these pictures when she has "to go" she tries to ignore him. She trots off to the tall grass with him trailing behind her or trying to stop her by rolling on the ground in front of her. [Kate is an 8 year old retired Bully Mama who had some of the sweetest baby bullies ever.]

Wednesday - 03/08/06 8:30 AM
Although partly cloudy, the current temperature is 60 F with the high forecasted to be 69 F and a low tonight of 55 F. I love days like this.

I took care of the puppies this morning while Bob walked the big Bullies, then we had our coffee outside as we took Holly out on potty break. Problem is she wouldn't leave us to take care of her business. She's such a silly sister and is too goofy to pay much attention to what she is told.. when I tell her "No" she drops her chin to the floor/ground and looks up at me with the most pitiful of looks and after a few minutes is back doing the same thing. Finally we put her in a potty pen and came back in to finish chores. I have two washing machines, the dryer and the dishwasher going. Things got even further behind when I had my sleep-in so I have to keep these appliances working away all day ... for at least a month. lol lol

Back to Holly, a couple of days ago she had to learn a lesson the hard way ... she was outside running free while Bob was walking Carlotta. She repeatedly got in Carlotta's face determined not to be deterred. Carlotta had warned her plenty of times before, this time she bit her lip and Holly thought she was dying. Immediately she came running to me screeching bloody murder. I scooped her up and snuggled her up under my chin while she whimpered. She wasn't hurt; no marks, no bleeding, just scared.

I have some wonderful pictures to share with you but I need to edit and resize them before they can be posted, so I'll be back later to sprinkle then into this journal entry.- Judy

I know I promised no more dancing until I'm completely well, but long-tongued Priss was the one who started it yesterday.

I was deboning their chicken so she started "break dancing", I suppose that would be what it was called; slinging her head around and bouncing, definitely not the Bully Butt Wiggle. I told her to be careful or that tongue of hers would get tied in a knot. (Bad Judy) Needless to say she's wonderful but those genes didn't need to be passed along so she hasn't been bred. We purchased her at 7 weeks old from a retired vet but it wasn't long before that tongue started growing and the older she got the longer it got. lol lol

Tuesday - 03/07/06 7:00 AM
I've been up for an hour answering emails, so I'm going to have to make this entry short because the puppies are getting restless.

Delta's "babies" went to the vet yesterday for their Well Puppy Physicals and they passed with flying colors. They will begin going to their homes shortly.

I'll be back later to post pictures, but right now I hear the puppies are very restless . - Judy

Monday - 03/06/06 Noon
Ever so often I crash and sleep for 24 hours but this time it was only 20. (lol lol)...

About 6 AM I awoke to a fruity smell and found French Toast with a side cup of warm Raspberry syrup on my nightstand. I gobbled it down, then immediately fell back asleep. I just NOW forced myself out of the bed.. I had to get up because there is way too much for Bob to do by himself.

The first time I "crashed" around Bob, he kept checking to see if I was alive, now he just does everything in his power to accommodate. However he has requested I not listen to the "Golden Oldies" radio station until I'm completely well, he swears it was because he caught Kate, Sweetie Pie and me dancing to:

"Bop" By Dan Seals

Put on your bobby socks baby
Roll up your old blue jeans
There's a band playing down at the amory
That knows what rock & roll really mean

Chorus:

I wanna bop with you baby, all night long
I wanna bop the night away
I wanna made it tonight like it used to be
When our hearts were young and our souls were free
I wanna bop, with you baby, all night long
I wanna be-bop, with you baby, 'till the break of dawn
I wanna bop, with you baby, all night long
Actually he was probably right, by early afternoon yesterday, my voice was so rough and gravely that Sweetie Pie barked when she heard it, thinking we had an intruder. Of course her barking set them all off, even Noel, our one-eyed Pirate Bully. More on her later... I hear Bob moving around downstairs.

The new medicine put me through the wringer last night probably because I did too much before going to bed... but I'm feeling much better this morning, normal temperature and blood pressure. I promised Bob I wouldn't do anything today.. you should see how topsy turvy this place is.

Yesterday, Mr Cat (shown here with Bessie Smith) climbed up to the porch roof then came to the bedroom window to tell me, he wanted food... demanding cat!! He's so funny; follows me everywhere, walks the top of the enclosed dog runs until I come out and if he can't find me, up to the 2nd floor bedroom window he comes. His mama was a feral cat who took up residence under the porch to have Mr Cat and Miss Kitty.

Friday - 03/03/06 8:30 AM
I'm up and working this morning, but had to take a break to rest for a moment...
I'm not in the mood to go into ALL the happenings of yesterday, so some will just have to wait, however, one of my main frustrations was my bronchitis. Whenever I do even light chores my temperature creeps back up to 100. I dropped in at the doctor's office and waited until he could see me, a couple of hours but hopefully I'll get better quickly. He gave me a prescription for stronger antibiotics plus cough syrup to break up the congestion.

We stopped at a place of business where the clerk, whom I did not know, started telling me about the troubles in her life and with tears glistening detailed her bad attitude toward mankind which she attributed directly to her job and interacting with a good many people being supported by "tax payers", seeing those who didn't work for a living doing nothing while she although in pain had to work. I listened attentively until she finished, wanted to give her a hug but there was a counter between us. I didn't have any magic words of wisdom, but perhaps expressing how she felt to someone who would not judge her, was of some benefit.

Oops the Lowe's truck just pulled into the drive to deliver the washing machine we bought last Saturday. They forgot to schedule the delivery, until I called ... Life is too short to allow the minor happenings to get us down.

I sincerely hope you have a wonderful weekend. I'll be back later today to post some pictures. - Judy

This has been an absolutely crappy day... I'll update at some point tomorrow.- Judy

Wednesday - 03/01/06 10:00 AM

The weather here yesterday was so very nice. In the afternoon the high was around 70F, but at 8:30 AM when we met Michelle with Rhubarb, as she was leaving work, the wind was blowing and it was chilly.

Rhu is a precious baby boy who loves to give kisses, snuggle up tight and sleep in my arms. Michelle had the human baby pacifier ready that I told her he would need because he still searches for a nipple to suckle.

Judy is a PuppyGal and always has been -- bringing in strays, thrown away puppies and other creature for the last 50 years, we will have to assume she was five years old before she brought in her first one. When she was four years old she went missing and hours later they found her under her Grandparent's old country farmhouse. She had snuggled up next to their big white dog and fell asleep. She and their eight yard dogs roamed the 100 acre farm, everyone contend that the dogs would protect her. While other little girls played with dolls, PuppyGal and the dogs followed behind her Papa as he plowed the fields, feed the goats or milked the cows. Life changed, Papa passed away, she lived full time in the city, got a good education and became an executive for a National Corporation. One day she decided they were robbing her of her life so she told them "I'm Through Now" and returned to the country and her first love, dogs....smashed faced, snorting Bulldogs.
