You do not have the market cornered on Lucy Things!!
Saturday morning, I was checking e-mail, looking at your site, etc. Well, I ran across an ad on petfinder (this site should be blocked from my computer).

I found a 3 month old, female black standard poodle for adoption. I figured, OK she will have one eye, three legs...whatever. I drove the 2 1/2 hours to go see her. As soon as I walked into the house, I could tell that this was a very well bred puppy. The lady had only had her for 2 days. She showed me the website where the dog came from and told me that she had gotten her from the owner because they found out that they were moving to Germany. She gave me the vet records, etc. I paid her $200 for the dog and off I went.

That evening, I found the breeder on the net and called her. This was most definitely one of her puppies. She said that the lady had driven from Maryland to Texas to pick her up. She was the female pick of the litter, her father is a champion that is always being shown in the "poodle magazines", etc. Like I thought, she really came from great lines. We still don't really know why the lady gave her up, she knew that they were moving to Germany when she got the dog. She did have a small child that was absolutely terrified of dogs so maybe something happened there. I think that she was just looking for a home for this puppy and gave him to the other woman who decided to sell her for a little extra money...whatever the reason I really got the better end of this one.

This is the smartest dog I have ever seen. She already has the sweetest manners. And boy oh boy you should see Brutus, he is head over heels in love with this dog. She is about 20 lbs and solid black. As soon as he laid eyes on her, he just turned to mush. He follows her around and cries for her to play with him. She of course, looks down her nose at him...I mean really...he is a dog you know.

We now have the perfect couple. Bulldog and foofy poodle. I can't wait until she is bigger than he is. It will be quite a sight.

Oh well, sorry so long, but I had to get the whole "Lucy" moment explained.

Talk to you soon - Brenda
