Puppy Gal Welcomes You To
Judy's Journal....

I started this feature for friends and family to answer their "What's going on?" emails, therefore, I probably tell too much, but you are welcome to laugh, cry and sigh with us.

I asked Erica from Chicago if someone was paying her to drive me crazy... (lol lol)
She was away for a week due to a death in her family, then came back to me pressuring her to make a choice between Pumpkin & Rhubarb, she wanted Pumpkin. I delivered Rhub to Sweetie Pie's English bulldog puppy Michelle in Corinth, MS this morning, she had initially wanted Pumpkin. Then this afternoon Erica send me an email wanting to change to Chess, then another email talking about the "she's" ooops .... I told her she could change pups but not the sex of the pup and that now everyone was going to be confused. She called, we laughed and talked for a good while about the differences in Chess & Pumpkin. She has a young, but not too young, son and since Chess is the more gentle of the two male pups I recommended him. Decision made she's getting Chess, so that makes Pumpkin available. I feel confident NOW that each pup is going into the enviornment best suited for it.

Pumpkin Pie, Sweetie Pie's English bulldog puppy The Well Puppy Physicals for Sweetie Pie's puppies went very well yesterday. Pumpkin had a small umbilical hernia which I had repaired. His new owners are to get him this weekend at which time his incision will be almost ready for the stitches to be removed.

Chess Pie, Sweetie Pie's English bulldog puppy I have not heard back from the people who had been the backup to get Chess Pie, therefore he is now available on a first come basis to anyone who has been prior approved as a "puppy parent". I try my best to be fair to everyone. Click Here For Pictures, Pictues, Pictures Whew, I reviewed Chess Pie's pictures and realized they do not do him justice. I'll try to take more today.

Two of Delta's baby girls have been reserved, Craklin' Rosie & Mustang Sally , as of last night and I've sent out an email to a person who expressed interest in Sweet Caroline.

I'm off to make coffee and start the day. May you have a 'good one'. - Judy

Sweetie Pie's Puppies are going to their new homes between now and Sunday....

Poor Bob is exhausted and I'm grouchy because I'm unable to assist him with the chores as much as is needed, therefore the puppies must be picked-up by the new owners ASAP. These are some of the finest puppies I could ever hope to have and the new owners are going to be so very proud. I had one glitch, the people who were going to get Chess Pie changed their mind because he was not going to be a mini. I had already told the back-up person that I was sure they would take him because he would go well with their children. Well, that is another lesson learned. I'll never reserve one on condition of it being a Mini again. At any rate, I have sent a email to the back-up people saying that he was available. If I don't hear from then within 48 hours he will be up for grabs. His price is now $1600 and he is well worth it.

I had to increase the price of the puppies so that I can pay someone to come in and help restore order to the house and yard. Me being sick and unable to clean house, all these puppies to care for, wet weather and a month full of sadness has resulted in one 'dog gone' mess. If I work too hard I'm afraid I will end up REAL sick.(My blood pressure and temperature are normal this morning ... hehehehehe.)

Sunday - 02/26/06 11:00 AM

I accompanied Bob into town yesterday afternoon. We needed to get out of the house and had a long list of needed supply items. Although the plan was for me to sit in the van while he actually went into the places of business, you know I couldn't stand waiting so out I popped. Then decided if I was stupid enough to risk a set-back, at least the trip should be really productive...

I bought 'our gang' chicken legs & thighs for $.29 pound, pork liver for $.69 per pound and made arrangements for a box of femur bones to be picked up next week. The next stop was Lowe's for a new washing machine for the dog beds, theirs had rusted out since it is out in the covered dog runs and exposed to the elements. They last about 3 1/2 years which is roughly $100 per year but the price isn't bad considering the convenience of having it where I hang the sheets to dry in the spring, fall and summer.

I'm in the process of posting more pictures of Delta Dawn's Puppies to this web page Click Here . You can start looking at them now, but be sure to refresh the page if you come back for another peak.

As we suspected, Sassy T had a stroke. She left this world with Bob hugging her up tight so she wouldn't be afraid. Along with her goes a big part of both of our hearts. She will be missed. I remember the time... but I'll tell you about those times later when recalling them will bring a smile, instead of a flood of tears.

Puppies like to lick away salty tears... I thought this picture might make us all smile. They are so very sweet and ready to be reserved. Hopefully we will take updated pictures this weekend.

Friday - 02/24/06 1:30 PM

My heart is breaking....... Sassy T has had a stroke. The 11 year old, stubborn, back-talking, sassy Bulldog who owns such a large piece of my heart, is leaving us.

She's been in declining Sassy T health due to age and I've been trying to prepare byself, but yesterday I was cheered because she was fussing at me as only Sassy can, actually just talking. I called the vet's office, bearly able to talk for crying, told them the situation and asked that Dr Jerry wait for Bob to arrive.

Bob insisted he go alone since I have been so sick and recently lost my friend Lynne. I knew he was right.- Judy

Friday - 02/24/06 8:30 AM

I've been having "episodes" for 3 years, been to 3 doctors multiple times and finally decided to go to Thailand for a full medical evaluation thanks to the generousity of a friend.

However this last episode was ever so slightly flirting with death. A friend who is an ER nurse, asked me for a complete write up. Afterward she told me exactly what to do for Asthmatic Bronchitis (Thank Goodness I had meds on hand although some were old) and it's working. After doing research on the Internet, Bob and I decided it is time for a lifestyle change because we both feel the major factor has been prolonged stress. You'll have to stay tuned for an update because we haven't decided what direction this change will take.

Thursday - 02/23/06 7:30 AM

I'm the type person who can get through most anything, then later break down crying over everything. Poor Bob!! That was yesterday, today will be different.

Sweetie Pie's English bulldog
puppy I was tired of seeing the Fraud Alert banner running across the top of my screen plus I'm tired of getting telephone calls and emails from people who have been scammed. I'm just telling them to get mad and get even by calling newspapers, TV and radio stations, the FBI, Geraldo .. scream, yell and holler. But I bet they don't, cause they don't want to admit to the world that they have been "taken". It isn't just a Bulldog scam, they are scamming on everything. I suspect these scams are funding terrorist organizations in Nigeria, since that appears to be where most of the money has been sent according to the people who have contacted me. Sending $500 via Western Union to stranger in a foreign country thinking you were going to get a quality English Bulldog in return is naive. Most Americans don't realize how fortunate we are to have good laws and government agencies looking after our best interest. This scam would have been stopped cold a long time ago if the scammers were in the USA.

Dog Gone, I'll get down off my soap box now. This is a picture of Sweetie Pie & Jazzman's Chess Pie, isn't he beautiful!!! I posted it here to give you a warm fuzzy feeling and hopefully brighten you day. - Judy

Wednesday - 02/22/06 8:00 AM

It was a long night... I had the task of notifying many of Lynne's friends and posting a notice to an online forum she frequented. I received many emails in return and tried to comfort them as best I could.

Today Bob and I hope to find some quiet time for ourselves. - Judy

I want to thank all of you who have been praying for my friend Lynne from NY who has been fighting cancer since January 2005..... She passed away peacefully with family in attendance this morning. She will be missed.

Tuesday - 02/21/06 8:00 AM

Good Morning!!!
I don't dare even think about getting up and helping with chores, although poor Bob is just about exhaused. He told me the one thing in his life he could NOT do without is me and to please stay upstairs in the bedroom and take it easy so I could get well. With that, I'm trying ... but it is very hard since I'm a 3rd gear type person. There is so much to do, so many puppy kisses waiting for me and big Bully Butt Wiggles waiting to happen the minute they see me.

Cherish this day, this moment and the USA - Judy

Monday - 02/20/06 8:00 AM

Note To Judy: When you have been sick for a week and finally your temperature drops back to normal, do NOT dance and prance to James Brown's "I Feel Good". It will put you back on your keister. The prone position allows easy access by the Bullies and in their exuberance they will step on you. Being licked to death is not an easy way to leave this world.

After you read the above I'm sure you guessed, I'm feverish this morning. I'm going back to bed where my friends are looking down from the ceiling, see 2/16 entry. lol lol Bob is not finding any humor in my situation and "me thinks" it disturbs him when I giggle. - Judy

Sunday - 02/19/06 7:30 PM

These pictures are of Sweetie Pie & Jazzman's Peach Pie (Peaches & Cream Pie). A combination of the overhead lights which we have to have on and the flash of the camera accent her baby pink skin. Her coat is just fine. She is reserved.

Comfort food is what I needed!!! At the mear mention of the below, Bob turns rather green around the gills, so I had to go downstairs and cook it myself. lol lol He wasn't pleased that I was out of bed, but he didn't say anything.

Fried Peanut Butter & Banana Sandwich Recipe
2 inch section ripe banana
2 slices white bread
2 tablespoons peanut butter
1 tablespoons butter

In a small bowl, mash the banana with a fork, then stir in the Peanut Butter. Cover one slice of bread and top with the other. Fry the sandwich in melted butter until each side is golden brown. yummmm yummmm Much better than rubberized Oatmeal. (Shame on me!!)

The Bullies get to dancing when I cook this because they think I'm scrambling eggs. I gave Kate a bite because she wanted it sooooo badly. Once it was in her mouth, she looked at me real hard like I had fooled her, but she ate it. lol lol

Hold those who are dear to you close to your heart today and be sure to tell them you love them. - Judy

Friday - 02/17/06 6:30 PM

[From Bob] Oaty (precious English bulldog puppy from Peanut and Reba) met his new family and was he excited! He loves to cuddle and snuggled right into Melanie's arms. Both Kathy and Melanie (Kathy's daughter) were so happy with the wrinkly, spunky puppy! He's going to grow up to be another Peanut -- sooo spoiled!

Friday - 02/17/06 10:00 AM

I'm feeling so much better... if I can get my temperature down just a little more it will be normal. Bob brought up this baby girl from Delta & Jazzman's litter for me to snuggle with earlier this morning and promised to bring McDougal (a.k.a. Reba & Peanut's Oaty) in a few minutes so I can snuggle with him before he goes to his new home later today.

I'm trying to eat the oatmeal Bob brought me, I wonder how he managed to get the texture to be similar to leather, oatmeal I never would have thought it. I let it get cold so now it's really nasty. I don't want to hurt his feelings and I have to eat something before I can take medicine, so I'm taking one tiny bite at a time and washing it down with water.

This is stupid and my stomach isn't that strong. I'm a grown woman not a child. (hehehehe) I hope it doesn't stop up the toilet. lol lol

Prior Postings: February 2004 we had a snow. I couldn't resist posting these pictures of Guitarman
GuitarMan, English Bulldog GuitarMan, English Bulldog

Peanut only talks to Bob so I copied this section from the Peanut Stories for you

Peanut hopped around catching snow flakes.

"Look, Dad! The snow is falling on the flower pot! It's over a foot deep!" he said.

"Oh, Peanut... It's about an inch of snow -- not a foot," I said.

And with that, he ran to where the snow had collected in a hole and he jumped in! "It feels like a giant 'Slushy'!" he hollered.

We have to go in to get warm and dry -- silly dog!

Thursday - 02/16/06 9:30 AM

I'll preface this entry by stating I can only remember having a high temperature two other times in my almost 60 years on this earth....
My fever finally broke early this morning and is now only low grade. Those of you who have read my journal for awhile know what I'm going to write next ... Bob has been so very good to me and has asked me to stay in bed until he is absolutely sure this illness has passed. He is worn out staying up all night with me and taking care of everything else.

Laying in bed not feeling like reading or listen to the radio, I realized I was not alone. The bedroom ceiling made of wide pine boards heavily gained with an abundance of knot holes, contained the exaggerated impression of owls, a clown, devilish looking little boy, a walrus and a lady in a plumed hat. It wasn't delirium as I had thought, for they are still looking down on me this morning.

The good news is Julio came by looking for work yesterday and the source of my physical problems may have just reared it's ugly head long enough to be identified.

Enjoy today and those around you... Judy

Happy Lady of Dogwood Pond knew more than her Mama knew. I woke up terribly sick in the middle of the night. I would have gone to the Emergency Room if I had insurance.....

Monday - 02/13/06 8:30 AM

Miss Happy Lady of Dogwood Pond is trying to push us over the edge...
With the "have to do" chores completed, we went to bed early knowing full well we would be up again in 3 hours to feed the "babies". I heard the gosh awful racket from downstairs. I rushed down to find Happy trying to get out of her crate and the other dogs were barking at her. I took her outside, she wanted back in the house. I left her out of her crate, she wanted back in it. Miss Happy of Dogwood PondI gave her dog food, she didn't want anything to do with it. I gave her yogurt, she raked her sheet into the bowl. I gave her a boiled egg snack, she gobbled it down and wanted more but too many will upset her digestive system. She want to be in the crate, eating boiled eggs until she popped and wanted ME there with her. Every time I would turn to leave she would somehow pop the crate tray, so back I would come. Finally I took her tray out, gave her a femur bone, a stuffed animal, a chew toy and a good scolding, back to bed I went, exhausted. Obviously her hormones have her being goofy but only after the lights are turned off, so I left them on.

Hope your week starts off upbeat and stays that way - Judy

Sunday - 02/12/06 Noon

Working hard trying to sort piles of paper which were tossed in a box during the past year, I hurried downstairs when Dixie Pie barked to go potty. On the way I saw these "babies" all snugged up in one of the two beds I had fixed for them in the children's swimming pool.. aren't they precious!

We received 2-3 inches of snow and had so much fun Saturday morning watching the bigger pups playing. Sorry there aren't any pictures, we tried but they were moving too fast so all we got were blurs. Noel headed across the yard to the drive, where Bob interceded to bring her back toward the house. Holly thought crunching in the snow was great. Dixie Pie's behind would flash by every few minutes as she flew around the yard. They all sniffed, snorted and a couple tried to taste the white stuff. Boomer, the stray, thought they were crazy for being out in it, but had to get up and run down the drive minutes later doing his "protector routine", when several horses trotted down the old closed road which runs down by the drive. Miss Queen Fluffy, was above it all.

It all reminded me of a snowy day years ago when the nieces and nephews were doing the same then begged me to tell them what the birds and squirrels we were watching, were saying. I could always entertain them. "Aunt Judy see the bird on that tree limb, what's he saying". To which I replied, "That's not a him at all, that's a mama bird worried that spring is too far away, but I told her it will be here real soon, so she's happy now."

Spring will be here soon... I'm happy now. - Judy

Friday - 02/10/06 2:00 PM

It's forecasted that we will have a snow storm hit from 3 PM today until 6 AM tomorrow. Accumulation of up to 5 inches is expected. Seldom have I seen it just snow here.. normally we get a layer of sleet and rain which turns to ice, then the snow. This makes for dangerous walking or driving conditions.

I appreciate the emails I have received from people telling me that they are praying for my friend Lynne. This is an update I received this morning from her Mother-In-Law. I would greatly appreciated you continuing to pray for her.

Dave (Lynne's husband) got back from Brazil Wednesday night and I'm thankful for that. It's hard to know what the future is for Lynne.

She is very weak but she says she wants to start some exercises to build up her strength. One day she will be talking about what will be done about the animals and telling who she wants to do her memorial service, the next she will be telling how she plans to work in her garden in the spring and what she wants to plant. So she still seems to have hope and she may be right, we really don't know.

Thanks for your continuing support. It is really appreciated. Marianne

In the past week I've gotten many applications to be Puppy Parents and my usual amount of "hate" mail from those to whom I responded that I did not feel one of "ours" would be right for their environment. [I normally approved 2 out of 20 application.]I've gotten wonderful emails from people telling me they enjoy our website and others shared stories of their Bullies. I've been asked questions, given FYI information, told about tragedies, sent updated information with pictures of our "babies" who have left home and received many "it's been a long time" emails. I have sent 185 emails of response.

In addition, I'm tried my very best to give emotional support to my friend Lynne who is now in hospice. I've sent her emails, her mother-in-law emails, I've send 125 update emails to her friends asking that she be remembered in prayer. I started her a new Prayer Thread hopeful that she will be able to see it and gain comfort from it. All this because "once I make the decision to care I care deeply".

I'm tired now, so if I don't post or answer your emails for a few days, please forgive me. - Judy.

Good Morning!! I worked like a dog yesterday and slept hard last night. [I have resolved to use phrases which contain the word "dog" Click Here.]

Background Information:
Sarah and her family have a 10 year old female Bully, named Elle which they got from me as a puppy. Recently they got Lucy a.k.a. Belle, daughter of Miss B & Jazzman, DOB 10/31/05. I responded by saying she was going to be a Mini, but after looking at the pictures with Noel, her sister, by my side, I just don't know if she will be a mini, but she's going to be small for sure.

Lucy is growing so big (for her)! She is the best girl in the world and we love her so much! She is going for another round of shots on Saturday so we will see how much she weighs. I will let you know so you can give me your opinion on her growth chart. I know she has to be a mini because she is still so small compared to other bullies her age – but I want your opinion. BUT – she is so healthy! I hope she doesn’t get much bigger because she naps on her back cradled in Brad’s arms like a baby (he says it is just like our real, human girls did). It is sight to be seen

She weighed in at 12.5 lbs! She is such a little butterball. She also had to move up a size on her harness as the little one (must be made for a cat!) was too small. I will load some pictures I took this weekend and send to you so you can see how beautiful she is. She gets compliments everywhere she goes – everyone talks about how pretty and feminine she looks. Katie, our 8 year old, calls her a “designer dog” because of her beautiful “designs” (markings). She also took her first heartworm treat on Saturday and ate it like a champ (I have to mush it in cheese for Elle).

Let me know what you think about her size.

Hi Judy and "the Gang",
Hope all is well with all of you. Baxter has grown so much, and thought you would like some pictures. He is always at my side, and goes to work on the computer with me everyday. Its sure nice to work at home, I laugh at him everyday when I say, "OK Baxter, ready to go to work?" and he stops whatever he is doing and goes to the computer desk and there he stays until I am finished for the day. (except for the occasional coffee and potty break)

We went on a week long vacation home to Erie for Christmas and I do believe he got more attention from family members that I did. Spoiled little brat!!! At any note it was really nice to spend Christmas with my family for it has been 4 years that I have been home for Christmas. You all take care and will email updates to you again.

Hi Judy,Sorry to hear your friend Lynne is not doing well, I will say a prayer for her. Hope you are feeling better also.Thought you might like to see some pictures of Pebbles to brighten your day.

She is doing fine, very loving and sweet. She is still a rough neck with Boomer, she'll play with him over us if he is willing to play with her. She is very good natured - loves her toys - loves to eat too, have to start taking away toys now because she is tearing them apart and attempting to eat them, she will also eat any paper that she can get - have to watch her, but it really isn't a big problem. She had her first heat cycle right after Christmas, so I guess she is not a young lady and not a baby. She is kind of sad now that the holidays are over - she got so much attention with my 2 college students home all the time for a month, so she is readjusting to the life with everyone coming and going.... (Note By Judy - left out the questions about poop which I answered)

She is a wonderful little bulldog, major butt wiggles everytime you walk in the room - just a very loving little girl! Hope you enjoy a few pictures. Take care. Millie

A little background info - Winston is the son of Mr. Big Stuff and Abigail is the daughter of Sweetie Pie & Jazzman, sister to Dixie Pie who is presently in heat and obsessed with Boomer's dead rabbit. Date of birth is DOB 06/25/05. Below is also an early picture of Winston with Baby Abbie.

Hey! Just a quick update on Lil' bit. She is doing great. She and Winston are best friends. They both had a wonderful Christmas and got spoiled rotten by numerous people. She went through her first heat without any problems. She's not too fond of the diaper, but she doesn't bother it, she just sulks. But after a pint of Ben and Jerry's and an all night chick flick fest, she was feeling better. (Just kidding-we didn't eat the whole pint). Of course when my mom and sister-in-law found out she was in heat, they were like "I know how you feel, You poor thing". My mom wanted to give her a heating pad. I'm telling you, we ain't right. Winston survived her first heat worse for wear than she did. Poor guy couldn't do anything right. Everything's back to "normal" now though. Hope everyone is doing well. Til next time, Susan

I was looking at the pictures that people send in of their beloved bulldogs, I have one as well and I love her with all my heart. The new one of a puppy named Mugzy, brought to my mind, of a neighbor of mine who had one by the same name. They took Mugzy to a groomer, and the groomer, not knowing enough about the breed, dried off the dog using a dryer and Mugzy died from the heat; as we know bulldogs cannot take excessive heat. I wanted to tell you so that you would post a message to let owners know to be careful about this. We were heartbroken when we heard about Mugzy and wouldn't like to see anyone else go thru this.- Carol

Monday - 02/06/06 Noon

I'm taking a lunch break. It's an overcast day here, the kind that leads your mind into heavy thinking. I think I'll go cook a pot of hardy soup, cold weather is descending upon our area so it will taste good later on today.

I had Dixie Pie, daughter of Sweetie Pie & Jazzman, out to potty via a lead when it began to sleet. She kept looking up at me like I was doing it, then she would sniff the ground expecting it to smell. Oh my silly Bullies, make me smile. The reason she was on a lead is because Boomer had killed a wild rabbit, we were over-run with them before he came to stay, and she happened upon his catch. She snatched it up and away she went. It took Bob a long time to get her to let him take it away and bring her back into the house. The next time I let her out to potty she frantically ran the yard searching for it, instead of taking care of her business. For more pictures of Dixie Pie, Click Here

Oh Mercy!! It's time for me to start winding this crew down. Noel the one-eyed pup just pulled a bag of onions into the livingroom to show Bob. They had been out to potty, he put her down on the floor and went to his computer to see the pictures I had posted of Peanut, in she comes dragging her onions. Real proud of herself, she was.

OK I've gotten emails begging for more puppy pictures, so you know what I've been doing in-between feeding and clean up after puppies.....

A sneak peak at Delta Dawn's litter of 6 females, born 1/17/2006. When I get ready to reserve them I will take better pictures, right now I don't have enough brain power to tackle the task of taking quality pictures or making decisions on applications. Also I might want these guys to go to the vet for a brief physical prior to allowing anyone to reserve them.

This little guy makes me laugh out loud. When he goes into his classic cocky Bully stance I call him "Sargent McDougal" (I have no idea why) and he will cock his head and look at me so intensely, it makes me want to hug him up tight!!!

Reba's Oaty (Oatmeal Cookie)- Reserved For The Gorham Family

Pictures Taken 2/5/2006

These are pictures of Peanut at the same age, 8 1/2 weeks old. Oaty looks better at this age than Peanut did, but don't tell Bob I said that or he'll be offended. Peanut is his BABY Boy.

Sunday - 02/05/06 9:00 AM

We woke up as the sun brightened the sky and light came through the bedroom window. Bob had been up twice during the night to feed the babies, the last time at 4 AM therefore our sleep had been broken. We snuggled closer, hopeful that Kate would sleep longer since it was partly cloudy. It was 6 AM, her normal "I have go" potty time. We dozed another 30 minutes, before first Kate then the other Bullies joined her barking to be let out.

Bob said he would go down, while I sent Sunday Morning prayers and posted encouraging words on my friend Lynne's prayer thread. I received a message from her mother-in-law that Lynne's son was installing her computer at the hospice. At least now we will know she can read her prayer thread if she feels well enough to do so.

Sweetie Pie's English bulldog puppy All the puppies were crying so I quickly went down to take care of them. Replacing their bedding, warming up mushy food for Sweetie's pups and the three older puppies; Oatey, Noel & Holly. Meanwhile Bob had put the Bullies in the enclosed dog runs which were warm enough for them to stay long enough for him to cook breakfast while I warm towels and blankets in the dryer for the smaller pups. They get so wet eating the mushy food that they get cold and start to shiver. As soon as one finishes eating and poops, I dry it off with a warm towel, then put in a rubbermaid storage container with a warm snuggle safe and a warm sheet fresh from the dryer. Soon they are all in the container snugged up and Sweetie Pie's English bulldog puppy sleeping. I remove their soiled bedding and replace it with another "6" twin size sheets. This same cleaning and feeding procedure takes place every 3 hours 24x7, plus when one "goes" I lay a clean pillow case over it until feeding time. We constantly monitor them at this point.

Bob is multi-tasking; took the load of bedding out of the washing machine and put it in the dryer, loaded the washing machine back up with dirty bedding, put a load of dog dishes in the dishwasher and cooked all at the same time.

Sweetie Pie's English bulldog puppy We retreat upstairs with our breakfast. Just as we started eating, Delta Dawn's puppies start to cry, they are 15 minutes late being put with their mother to nurse. We're so tired we don't know if we should be pouty because we can't even eat in peace or laugh at their sense of timing.

Bob is letting them nurse while I make this entry to my journal. In just a moment, we'll be changing out the grown Bully's bedding and bringing them back into the house. Bob will let out two or three at a time and they will race each other for the back door and into crates where their food will be waiting. We rotate allowing them the roam and have to keep a careful eye on Holly... she just can't help herself she loves the smaller puppies and just has to get into the pool with them the moment I'm not looking, although she knows she will be in trouble. All I have to say is "DOG" and out she comes, slinking down like she's going to be beat. She doesn't even know what a swat of a newspaper feels like. I can't find it in my heart to punish her for loving.

This is how our day begins, we'll retain this pace until 9 PM when they are all snuggled in for the night, then we'll start our tired march up the stairs to the bedroom, for Bob will be getting up in a few hours to care for the puppies. I started this entry 45 minutes ago and now it's time to bring in the grown bullies.

I hope you are having a good weekend. Please send warm thoughts and prayers to our fellow Americans in uniform, because of them we are free. - Judy

Taking a break from morning chores with a cup of coffee, I decided to give you an update....

Cherry went to her new home last night but it was such an 'event' that I forgot to take pictures. I'm sure she will have the very best of care. Earlier this week up to the top of my brain floated the memory of getting an email after the fact that one of our "babies" had a heart murmur detected early on but it was only barely detectable after a few months.

I searched my emails, yes I have them all stashed away on this overloaded computer of mine, and found it. Sure enough it was Reba & Peanut's 10/6/04 litter. At this point I want to say, at the time I worked on the assumption that the vet must have made a mistake, since our vet didn't hear a murmur, however we know for certain Cherry has a murmur, so it certainly changed that opinion.

I immediately sent them an email asking for an update. The reply was: when checked before his neutering in October 2005 it could not be heard. I feel the same will be true for Cherry. She acts like a normal pup but Bob and I both recall Count being much less active than the other Bullies his age [Peanut, Guitarman & Sugar were raised with him].

Have a good weekend!!! - Judy

I am typing one handed (baby in other), so this will be short, but I wanted to send this to you to show how much Stinky likes being a big brother! He is still doing pretty well, he is starting to test his boundries just as any Mortymer a.k.a. Miss B's & PepperJack's Patton normal Bulldog would, but he listens pretty well when he is told no. He hasn't yet shown any sort of agressiveness or jelousy, he has taken it all in stride. He is such a good boy!

Enjoy!

Cherry, the smaller of the two in this picture, is going to her new home this weekend. The other pup is Miss B's Holly, a sweetheart. As you can tell Cherry didn't know what to think about Holly jumping into the pool with her and eating her food, but she adapted immediately.

My friend Lynne is being transferred to a hospice facility today for a week while her husband makes a business trip to Brazil. I can hear her tell him to go and reassuring him that she will be fine while he is away. The last thing she wants to be is a burden on anyone. I'm doing everything I can to provide emotional support to her through her illness. Your continued prayers will be greatly appreciated. - Judy

Thursday - 02/02/06 Noon

Poor Sweetie Pie has had such a hard time since the c-section. She's had an infection that got worse instead of better although we were giving her antibiotics per the vet's instructions. Then all at once, it was so much worse we made an urgent trip to the vets, which resulted in a change in antibiotics. Presently, there are no obvious signs of her still having an infection, but we're watching her like a hawk as she finishes this round of medicine.

Yesterday I made the choice to start feeding her pups mushy food, since they had diarrhea and she just absolutely didn't want them to nurse more than a minute. After the first meal, their stool was much better and I'm real proud to say it is near normal this morning. Evidently, the antibiotics were being passed through the milk to the puppies. We've been too busy to take really good pictures but as you can see in ones below, they very chunky and just downright beautiful.

Basically doing chores and worrying over Sweetie & Pups was our yesterday. - Judy

Judy is a PuppyGal and always has been -- bringing in strays, thrown away puppies and other creature for the last 50 years, we will have to assume she was five years old before she brought in her first one. When she was four years old she went missing and hours later they found her under her Grandparent's old country farmhouse. She had snuggled up next to their big white dog and fell asleep. She and their eight yard dogs roamed the 100 acre farm, everyone contend that the dogs would protect her. While other little girls played with dolls, PuppyGal and the dogs followed behind her Papa as he plowed the fields, feed the goats or milked the cows. Life changed, Papa passed away, she lived full time in the city, got a good education and became an executive for a National Corporation. One day she decided they were robbing her of her life so she told them "I'm Through Now" and returned to the country and her first love, dogs....smashed faced, snorting Bulldogs.
