Good Morning Everyone! A Special Hello To City of Athens, TN Employees!
We've been up and going for some time, trying to beat the heat so working outside won't be
so bad and stopped for just a few minutes to eat crustless quiche for breakfast.
Last night I came across a picture of Peanut that made me smile and I realized I hadn't
posted it before.

Mortymer, brother to Jeb, has an announcement to make!!! Click on the picture to get an enlarged view.

Subject: Big Brother
Hi Judy!
We thought we would pass these pictures on and announce that Mortymer is going
to be a big brother in January. Luckily he has gotten some practice around
newborns with my 3 month old nephew. I think it will be an adjustment, but I
think he will be okay.
This is what Mortymer looks like every morning- almost
as bad as I do lately- his morning routine is amazing, it takes a minimum of 5
minutes to get him out of bed and usually Matthew gives in and just carries
him down the stairs- just as he wishes! He is no morning puppy, and does not
want to be disturbed before 10am. He is foul, and will take a few steps then
lay down, then you have to beg him to get back up and he'll take a few more
then take a break. I am fully aware we have created this monster, and I don't
doubt that this is probably his favorite time of the day- he acts like a
spoiled child and gets all the attention he wants! To add insult to injury, he
is often coerced down the stairs with treats!
Anyways we wanted to share the
news with you, and any advice you can offer to us in regards to introducing a
new baby to our 1st baby is always welcome! I know we do not have to buy a
baby monitor because when my nephew spent the night, Mortymer did not get a
wink of sleep- he stayed by the door all night and as soon as that baby made
the slightest noise he was whining and wanted us to check on him immediately-
he looked at us as if we were crazy for thinking a crying baby was not an
emergency. Poor baby (Mortymer) needed 2 days to recover after his babysitting
responsibilities. - Stephanie

I'm working hard trying to get caught up on posting of pictures I have received in the last few weeks.

These pictures are just precious. Cupcake is one happy Bully in her new home. The only problem
has been, she's "quite a persistent pest to Boomer", see his picture below. I thought she was
smart but to pick on a dog that much bigger than you, isn't smart!! My advice was if possible to
let Boomer handle things. He finally decided to teach her some manners, by growling and giving her
a butt with his head. We'll just have to see if he can make his point.

For those of you who don't know: 4 or 5 years ago Mr. Cat's mother took up residence under
our porch when she was pregnant. She was a true wild cat who came out to attack the
Bullies when we took them out on a lead for potty breaks.
We trapped her, had her spayed and turned her loose where we were told, by the local Cat
Lady, there was a feral colony way deep in the country far away from residences.
Later, we trapped her offspring, Mr. Cat & Miss Kitty and had them fixed. They had been
taught to be wild by their mother and I kept telling Bob not to even look at them. I was
fearful one of the Bullies or "stray dogs that came to stay" would kill them if they were
tamed down.
Needless to say every chance he got Bob was feeding them tidbits and doing his 'cat talk'
trying to make them friendly. The pictures below are the result.
Have a peaceful, restful Sunday - Judy

Just so happened I had my camera in hand as I was taking pictures of blooms while out with
Miss Bessie on a potty break. Poor Mr Cat wasn't doing anything but taking his afternoon
nap, when Bessie spotted him. They are so funny together that I started taking pictures of their
interaction. I hope the pictures make you smile. Have a Good Weekend!!! - Judy

Worked like a dog all day
yesterday. I found I had snails in my plants and the only way they could have been
introduced was in the potting soil I purchased at either Wal-Mart or Lowe's. I suspect
they were in egg form and hatched out, otherwise I believe I would have noticed. I scattered an
environment friendly product which is suppose to dry them up and I'm going to put out
Snail Bait either this afternoon or in the morning when it's cooler. How do you like the
above picture.. I thought it looked pretty good for a 58 year old woman. The last few years have been tough ones and have really put the wrinkles on my face but a
facelift is out of the questions, cause I'm a chicken. lol lol
There was closure
today on a lawsuit I filed in 2003 to obtain a clear title to the land upon which our
house was built. We were told the land would be given to us when we built the house, but
then my Mother got it into her head, via my younger sister I'm sure, that our house and
the land should be left to my younger sister's children with us only having lifetime
rights, HELLO!!! We made a $100,000 investment in improvements to the property. I don't
have children but Bob does and I couldn't believe she wanted to mistreat them in such a
manner since Bob had always been so good to my parents. Although it has done irreparable
damage to my relationship with my parents, they are really the ones who lost .... a
daughter. Bob and I were prepared to take care of them when they could no longer do so.
I just hope they live long enough to know what they have done to themselves.
After 3 years of trying to resolved the issue it was affecting my health, high blood pressure,
insomnia and enhanced issues with my heart therefore I felt I had no
choice but to file a lawsuit against my parents since it was in both names. Had I not and they had
incurred a large debt due to an accident, hospital bills, etc our house would have been sold to pay
the debt. After two years
of court action, they finally agreed to let us BUY two acres of the land, only two acres no
more!!
You can't imagine the pressure we have been living under all this time and all the while
dealing with some really emotional people in regard to the Bullies. lol lol I had a unknown person
who was stalking me because I am a breeder. They told me they knew where I lived and had
even driven by. By this time I had a HIGH anger level anyway, so I just told her to come
ahead on!! She could do what she felt she had to do and I would do the same. I did
however warn her that I had a psychotic 80 lb rescue dog who had never been put to a test
but he had chewed the tires of vehicles and attacked a leaf blower because they made noise
so no telling what he would do if he thought someone was hurting his mama. In addition I
had a shotgun that I was willing to use if she harmed us or any of "our gang".
I didn't bother to tell her it was one of those guns you put powder and shot in
then pack it down with a rod, which would probably kill me if I was ever fool enough to
fire it and that Big Red would lick her to death, he loves people lol lol She moved on to the next breeder, meanwhile we had many uncomfortable
nights around here for a long time, getting up to check what the yarddogs were barking at
in the middle of the night and to this day, there is always someone here 24x7 to make sure
nothing happens.
It was along about this time, I stopped placing puppies with people who
were wanting to breed and ceased stud service: a stalker calling and sending emails, a person complaining that they
didn't think their female would be able to have puppies before it was even bred, midnight
calls in regard to a female about to go into labor, people not doing what I advised them to do in
regard to their pregnant Bully and so much more that I've put out of my mind plus getting
prepared for court appearances over this land situation were just more than I could
handle. I was ready to close the website but Bob talked me out of doing so.
Bob and I have learned a lot and have grown closer as a result of all we've experienced.
We also believe there are brighter days ahead, so does that mean my wrinkles will go away (lol lol) - Judy

My flowers are easier to take pictures of than the puppies, flowers don't jump and run around. lol lol
I honestly am trying to take pictures of the puppies but I'm having all sorts of difficulties, now
it's the camera, perhaps the batteries are getting too low. I'm going to take them out and put them
in the charger, then try again. Meanwhile I'll share pictures of my plants.
Oops Puppies first!! Please refresh you screen if you see "red x" as we will be uploaded for a while
longer, but I wanted to make available what we have loaded now.

This morning, I forced myself out of bed at 4:30, by 6:00 Bob suggested we crawl back in bed
for a nap since both of us were foggy headed. Bob had already gone upstairs when Liberty started
to cry. She wanted her 'White Mama' as we call Sweetie Pie, but she had already been fed. I snuggled her up under my chin
and climbed the stairs to the bedroom. The moment Bob laid his head on the pillow he was asleep
so Liberty and I crawled in beside him and snuggled up.
Almost immediately, she and I were asleep,
the next thing I know she has tinkled all over my arm and the bed. Boy did I move fast, heart just
a pumping trying to get it up before it soaked into the mattress. I felt her move up in the bed to
my chin but I was so tired the meaning ... oh no, she's gotta go, escaped me!!!
My project has been to catch up on the doggie laundry (backed-up because the washer has been down). If I work really hard all day I will probably
accomplish that goal. Never will it get that far behind again, if I have to take the sheets to a coin-operated
facility.
Take care today and make someone happy!! - Judy

Bessie Smith, 4 month old puppy, has officially gone into her "terrible twos". I believe
her every motion is calling out "watch me now". She barks to go out to potty, which she may
or may not do, first thing out. Her favorite thing to get my attention is to grab on to one
of my plants, snatching a bite as she runs as fast as she can... snatch, bite, snatch, bite.
If I tell her "Bessie, No" it's like saying "Go Bessie, Go". This too shall pass meanwhile I
just act like I'm watering my plants and she accidently got wet... sure!!! When she is just too
bad... I pick her up, hold her belly up in my arms and give her lots of sloppy kisses.... abuse
goes both ways!!! lol lol - Judy

Gracious so much to do and so little time. lol lol I just finished feeding these
sweethearts in the smaller pool so they could make their mess there and it would
be easier to clean than the larger pool. They looked so pitiful with food all over
them that I started snapping away and then decided to upload them so you could enjoy!!
Notice there are a couple that are pouting because I'm pointing the camera at them.

First of all, pictures of Sweetie Pie's little baby girl, Dixie Pie
Every time I look at her I think, Little Bitsy Pretty One!! She is such a baby
but real soon she's gonna decide she has had enough of being walked on, knocked
down or having one of the other pups sit on her head. lol lol She's 6 weeks old
today but looks more like she is 3 weeks old. She is destined to be one of the
little ones!!!
None of Sweetie Pie's puppies have been offered yet. They were given their shots
today and will be taken for a "well puppy" physical Monday or Tuesday. Meanwhile
we will be taking pictures of all the pups so that people can reserve them. I will not
be releasing them until they are at least 8 weeks old, which will be the weekend of 8/20.
They are AKC and will be $1300, also there will be a written contract to be signed
which specifies the brand of puppy food to be fed, no breeding, etc.
I'm NOT gonna tell you that I received a wonderful package of Iris tubers today. It was a
present in a sense, Louise a friend who happens to be a commercial grower offered to give
me some Iris and I said OK but I must pay the postage, so that's what we did. Now poor
Bob has to build me another Iris bed. lol lol The man has too much to do as it is.
I have to show you my latest Angel's Trumpet (Brugmansia) blooms, actually I started growing
them for Bob, he just fell in love with them.
Thursday - 08/04/05 2:30 PM
At the end of last week I received a package of special Iris chosen just for me and the
colors I like. Do you remember Twyla, the lady in OK who needed help so Bob and I decided to take
the money we would have spent on each other a Christmas present and instead buy things
for her which she would need to be able to return to her home? The Iris came from her, she
is such a dear sweet lady.
The postman honking means I have a delivery, it was yet another present. I always wanted
to have a summer birthday instead of one that hugged so close to Thanksgiving, so today it
is!!!
Lynne, a dear friend sent me a handcrafted mobile, the top flat part is a portrait
of Peanut and the things dangling off the wires are origami paper cranes. Along with the
present she sent me one of the sweetest letters I've ever received, telling me how much
she appreciates me. The kindness of my friends has just overwhelmed me!!! Tears of Joy, flow
down my cheeks.
http://www.sadako.org/
"The Sadako Story"
The paper crane has become an international symbol of peace in recent years as a result of
it's connection to the story of a young Japanese girl named Sadako Sasaki born in 1943.
Sadako was two years old when the atom bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, Japan on August 6,
1945. As she grew up, Sadako was a strong, courageous and athletic girl. In 1955, at age
11, while practicing for a big race, she became dizzy and fell to the ground. Sadako was
diagnosed with Leukemia, "the atom bomb" disease. Sadako's best friend told her of an old
Japanese legend which said that anyone who folds a thousand paper cranes would be granted
a wish. Sadako hoped that the gods would grant her a wish to get well so that she could
run again. She started to work on the paper cranes and completed over 1000 before dying on
October 25, 1955 at the age of twelve.
The point is that she never gave up. She continued to make paper cranes until she died.

I hope I haven't appeared to be pitiful or stressed or in need of presents.... I got
another one. A very long box of day lilies, Flore Pleno, sent from a friend in MD,
USPS Priority. They are beautiful double orange with red petal centers, kinda like a real fancy
Ditch Lily and I love my Ditch Lilies!!
I'm off to make sure none of the plants are about to die from lack of water. The doggie washing
machine is on the blink again, but this time I ordered the manual when I ordered the part.
This has been a busy week and there is more to do yet. I might get a chance to sit down and rest
come Monday, if I don't pass out before then!! lol lol lol - Judy
Wednesday - 08/03/05 5:30 PM
This afternoon I had to take a nap, we've been working hard and not getting much
sleep due to the puppies needing to be fed and cared for in the middle of the night. After
my nap I went onto the back porch and found a box had been left by FedEx.
It was a gift from Cindy, a friend whom I always try to make smile, usually by sending pictures of
the puppies doing goofy stuff. She's going through Cancer treatments and it's easy to get
"down". With the gift, there was a note, that said, Now it's my turn to make you smile.
Thanks for being one of my special angels..." It brought tears of joy, she is such a
thoughtful person, although fighting for her life. She went into the hospital
for removal of a tumor on her thyroid. Instead the "tumor" was actually an enlarged lymph
node -- the surgeon sewed her back up and told her family she had an "inoperable cancer."
When she relayed this, I told her, "It ain't over until the Fat Lady sings,
and I'm not in the mood to sing!!" I have seen her go from devastated to devastatingly strong.
I can hear the question being asked, was she a smoker, the answer is yes.
Take care of yourself and those around you. - Judy

Whew!! It's getting hot already!! The high today is suppose to be 93 which is really
hard to handle with all the humidity we have. It is unreal that Chicago has gotten hotter
than we have this summer.
If you have recently gotten a Bully pup (from any breeder) and you notice
that it no longer has the appetite that it had when you first got it ...
you may be giving it too many treats.
Save the treats for potty training and then make it small portions only.
Your puppy needs the vitamins, minerals and nutrition of a puppy formulated puppy food.
We recommend a half and half mixture of Purina Puppy Complete Nutrition
and Eukanuba Puppy Medium Breed soaked
with a little plain yogurt to enhance the taste and balance the stomach.
Have a Good Day!!! - Judy

John & Millie taking Lou back home to the Chicago, IL Area

Bob took a picture of me with Lou, but I looked just like a little fat honker (pig) so
I didn't post it. Maybe it's the hair cut that makes me look like Miss Piggy or it could
be I just look like Miss Piggy, either way you all are not seeing that picture!!! lol lol
If anyone who knows them and have both of their cell phone number, please call them and
advise that after they left I had tiny, tiny little insects biting the dickens out
of me. They are about the size of a grain of salt and I think they are newly hatched ticks.
They need to check themselves and Lou.
The rain must have made them hatch and drop from the trees. Time to spray again. This is the
only thing I hate about living in the woods. On a positive note, the lower level was cooled by
one, 110 a/c even when the temp got up to 99. Good insulation, wrap-around porches and all our
big oak trees.
Have a good day, I'm going to run take a nap, Sweetie Pies's babies kept me awake most of the night.

Judy is a PuppyGal and always has been -- bringing in strays, thrown away puppies and
other creature for the last 50 years, we will have to assume she was five years old
before she brought in her first one. When she was four years old she went missing
and hours later they found her under her Grandparent's old country farmhouse. She
had snuggled up next to their big white dog and fell asleep. She and their eight
yard dogs roamed the 100 acre farm, everyone contend that the dogs would protect
her. While other little girls played with dolls, PuppyGal and the dogs followed
behind her Papa as he plowed the fields, feed the goats or milked the cows. Life
changed, Papa passed away, she lived full time in the city, got a good education and
became an executive for a National Corporation. One day she decided they were
robbing her of her life so she told them "I'm Through Now" and returned to the
country and her first love, dogs....smashed faced, snorting Bulldogs.
