Goodness it turned a little chilly early this morning. I love to sleep with the attic fan going,
but I woke up this morning feeling of my nose to see if there was an icicle on it!
It was 43 degrees and here I was laying in front of an open window with that big ol' fan just
pulling 100% humidity air across my face; my body was weighted down with quilts I got from the
closet while half asleep in the middle of the night!!! Handmade antique quilts that I would never
have used if I had been awake.
Life is hectic, to say the least, with Miss Ellie's puppies here, plus the 3 young unrelated
adult females we recently acquired, Sweet T. Pie, Smart Cookie and Eve. In addition, our
adult female Bullies are coming into heat. They have been together for so long that their heat cycles
have synchronized.
We have outside "potty runs" that need tarps overhead and on the sides to give
shelter from the rain and block the winter wind or the Bullies won't do "their business",
they are too anxious to get back inside. That, plus on a farm tarps come in handy for lots of
reasons. Cheap plastic tarps get ripped too easily by the high winds in our location and the
few canvas ones we been using have seen their better days. So I started searching for
inexpensive canvas tarps and found there is no such thing! But I'm resourceful...

We now have 236 tarps BUT ....I got them at a really good price! That's exactly what I told Bob
right after I bought that truck load of Government Surplus Half Shelter Tents. The only problem
is, we only needed the 36. What am I going to do with the other 200? If you snap two together they
make a Pup Tent so now we're down to having 100 extra Pup Tents. I getting there!! Are you old enough to
remember the "Lucille Ball & Desi Arnaz Show"? Well,..... Just Call Me Lucy!!!
Bob is off to the Vet's to have Happy bred. He said on the way back he was stopping at the
new Wal-Mart to get a stencil and black ink so he can put "PuppyGal's Pup Tent" on all the
tents. LoL That was his parting remark before he made a quick exit out the door. I told him if
Dr Frank call me "Lucy" the next time I was in there that he (Bob) was in trouble.
I told him to get busy on a website and as soon as we got one of the tents we could set it up
and take a picture with Mr Big Stuff inside, looking out!!! Wouldn't that be cute!!
I'm off here and moving fast, got to start on the website to sell Pup Tents because I sure don't know where
I'm going to put them when they arrive!!!
Actually, we're having a ball laughing over the situation and trying to come up with a creative solution!!
If you are wondering why I would tell the world what a "Lucy thing" I've done, it's to make you laugh!!

You know it's going to be a special day when you glance out the window and see Deer
(4 Bucks, one with a 6 point rack)peacefully grazing 20 feet from your front porch.
We've had heavy rain and high winds for the past few days so we think maybe nuts and
seeds were knocked to the ground, either that or Deer eat mushrooms, which are abundant.
We've never had the opportunity before to observe them at such a close range for so
long a period of time. It lightened our hearts!!!

As if we didn't have enough...
Yesterday we had an opportunity to get another beautiful English bulldog female!
She's about a year and a half old and has a 'I wanna be your buddy' disposition...
Her official name is a mouthful 'Sweet Tater Pie' but we will call her "Tater" or
more likely "Sweet T. Pie"...

Warning!!! People Stealing Bullies
Just a reminder to be extra careful with your Bully. They are the #1 Stolen Dog in the USA.
This is what happened to one of our families last week.
>>>We had a horrible time a week ago. We let Lucy (Bully) out to the bathroom then our 2 year
old screamed inside the house, so David went after Sophie, and while his attention was averted,
someone tried to steal Lucy out of our 6ft fenced in yard. They missed passing her over the
fence, and she fell. Later that day, I came home from work to check on her, and she was
having problems breathing. She ended up in doggy ICU for 4 days with a pulmonary contusion.
She is so strong though and made it through and is back to normal despite the vet thinking she
was going to die. By the way, lemon juice and cola cut up their phlegm to help them breathe.
Needless to say, $800 and a lot of tears later, we have decided to put our house on the market
and move to the country next year! Lucy is great, she is 33# now and a love to have around.
I have been diagnosed with Lupus, yuck yuck, but we're hanging in there! We'll talk to you
soon,
Lorel <<<<<
Please include this family in your prayers, Lupus is a serious condition!!!

A picture of the new "stray that's come to stay". We have named him "Dingo".

We hope your day includes as many smiles as ours. Judy, Bob and "Our Gang"
Date: Friday - 09/06/02 - 10:00 AM
We just took updated pictures of Mr Big Stuff, he sure makes me laugh. He will be a year old
on Tuesday, already weighs 61 pounds and is so very sweet.
The new "stray that's come to stay" we have named "Dingo" because he is an Australian Sheep Dog,
known locally as a Blue Heeler, the original of which was part Dingo. The last few days he has
"hung around" for a couple of hours allowing himself to be seen, by us as we work outside.
Now the challenge will be for me to get my hands on him so we can have him neutered.
Have a Wonderful Day!!!

"Today, I dance, for there may be no tomorrow!!"
"Life is full of tears, make sure your smiles outweigh them!"
"If you don't wear anything else, wear a smile!"
"Make a fashion statement, wear your smile"
"Sometimes it's hard to be happy so I just put a smile on my face and face what I gotta face."
Life gets tough then smoothes out for awhile so we roll with the punches ever hopeful that a smooth stretch is on the way!!!
Why do they call it "getting your dog fixed" if afterwards it doesn't work anymore?
