![]() Sleepy's Females The sure sign of a Bully going in labor is food, if they won't eat then time is near. I opened a can of puppy food and she ate 90% so she wasn't going into labor right away. Bob took her temp again and it was 101, hadn't dropped. He said he had must not have left it in long enough before. Wide awake, it took me a couple of hours and a large glass of wine to get back to sleep. Bob decided to stay downstairs so he could hear her if anything else happened. Two hours later, he awoke to her "up chucking". Oh no, same as not eating, but since she wasn't panting or nesting, Bob let me sleep until it was closer to time for our Vet's Office to open. At 7 AM, we were nervously driving down the highway, she was panting heavily and trying to nest, we were afraid we had waited too long and she was going to start having them in the van. Dr Frank is off on Fridays but he just happened to be in the office and did the c-section for us. Actually, I think we had been on his mind and he knew if she was going to need a c-section we would be there when the office opened. He is WONDERFUL!!! Say a prayer, the first week is critical. Judy PS PepperJack wanted to make sure you know he's the father of this litter!! Saturday - 12/14/02 - 11:00 AM I haven't posted a notice or pictures yet on the front page of the website. We've only announced it on this page which is where my friends go to find out what is happening!!! My reason for limiting the number of people who know about the puppies is because my telephone would be ringing off the wall and my mailbox would be filled with e-mails, then I surely couldn't get anything done. I'm running around like a crazy woman taking care of "our gang". I've got more to do today than I could possibly finish by midnight. Bob can't help because he has had very little sleep plus at this stage he is the caregiver of the puppies which have to be fed every 1 1/2 hours. They have to eat every 2 hours and because there are so many, we've split them into 2 sets with it taking 30 minutes for each set to nurse. Judy Saturday - 12/14/02 - 11:00 AM I removed the tents from the website because I didn't have time to deal with them. Darn, I always have more projects going than I can handle. We're trying to finish the cherry flooring in the living room and dinning room which is majority of the space downstairs so everything is "topsy turvy" and now we have this litter of puppies to add to the confusion. It's has been too cold and rainy for "our gang" to want to go outside for long, preferring to go in and out all day, tracking in dirt and leaves each time!!!! Plus I've been totally involved with one of our sold puppies in NY that has a problem which none of the vets can identify. It made me tired just writing all of that, you can imagine what living it is like. Oops puppies calling, more later. Judy Sunday - 12/15/02 - 7:00 AM Sad Sunday, today is a day of death. First thing this morning I received an e-mail that one of our "sold" puppies, from Miss Ellie's litter, had snatched a chicken leg, attempted to swallow it whole and choked to death. Then when I went to check on "our gang", I was shocked to find that one of the "Old Girls" had died in her sleep.... Right now I can't take out time to mourn, I have to take care of the living but sooner or later, my sadness will overcome me. I'll probably break down in the middle of Wal-Mart or some equally inappropriate place!!!! Judy Prior Events Pages - Click Here My response is, "Click Here!!"
