E-mails Of Encouragement & Prayers Are Requested For This Young Couple!!!

Monday - 12/2/02 - 11:00 AM

In reference to the above request for prayers and e-mails of encouragement, I received the following update today.
"We had a good week last week. After a two hour ultrasound of the baby's heart they told us everything was fine. They didn't see anything wrong at all. As for the size of the baby, she (were calling the baby a she because all the doctors think it's a girl) grew two weeks worth so that concern is gone. But her kidneys are still bigger than what they are supposed to be, but smaller than when we went the last time so they are hopeful everything is going to be ok.

The doctor said that when she is born they will have to do an ultrasound on her to see if they will have to do surgery or not. But all in all, the baby looks good which made us feel a whole lot better.

All the praying and faith helped.
Thanks To All of You and God bless!!!!!

We made a quick run into town to rent a floor sander and get supplies to finish the floor once sanded. Bob was coming out of Lowe's with our purchase when he saw a woman walking across the parking lot with a turkey carcass in an aluminum foil roasting pan. He said he knew it was me, before he ever saw my face. He went on to say, if he had been inside and someone had said there goes a woman with a turkey carcass he would have bet good money on it being me. He's really just thankful, I don't go to all the tables asking for their leftovers when we go out to eat. Bless his heart, it took him the longest time to get over being embarrassed by me getting a "doggie bag".

I had spotted some items on sale when we went into the store and while he was checking out I went to investigate. On the way back to meet him, I saw they were closing up the area where they had "deep fried" a turkey and had given out samples, hoping to get people to buy a "Turkey Fryer". I asked the young man, what he was going to do with the carcass and he said throw it away. So I told him to give it to me for my Bullies, I could simmer it in a big pot and make turkey gravy for them. Hence I was walking across the parking lot with the carcass, getting lots of remarks from people as I passed, mostly encouraging, except one elderly man who asked "Did it fill ya up?". To this I replied, "I was awful hungry and there's not much left or I'd offer you some". Everyone around was laughing. Who would have thought you could get so much laughter and interaction with strangers, not to mention gravy, out of an ole turkey carcass!!!!

The "strays that came to stay" smelled that carcass before I even got the van door open, but they're going to have to wait until in the morning.

Too bad all of you don't live near, just think of all the turkey gravy these dogs could be having the day after Thanksgiving!!!!

Saturday - 11/23/02 - 7:00 AM

Well, winter just danced right in here, it's 26 degrees out there!!!! I woke up to "Old Time Rock N Roll" on the radio so the Bullies and I "Butt Wiggled" to it, then I got busy. "Our Gang" does not like it being this cold. Charlotte, in particular, balked at taking a morning stroll. She looked up at me like "are you stupid, it's cold out here". She just needs another dance or two, to get her blood to flowing !!!

Chicken legs and thighs have been cooking in crock pots all night long. We remove the skin, fat and bones before we mix it in the soaked food we've prepared for the Bullies' breakfast. Yesterday, we got a real deal on a Turkey, $.29 per pound, so they are having their Thanksgiving Dinner tonight.

We hope you have a great Thanksgiving Day!!! My birthday is the day after, the 29th, and I will be 56 years old!!! Bob is planning a big surprise!! I bet among other things, we go dancing!!!

Judy

PS I just thought of the greatest weight loss program ever, start off the day doing the Bully Butt Wiggle to at least 5 old Rock N Roll songs by "Sam & Dave", preferably with a Bully so you won't feel so stupid.

Wednesday - 11/20/02 - 10:00 AM

Yesterday was beautiful but today we have fog which doesn't appear to be dissipating at all.

We were able to off load the 800 lbs of "tents" onto the back porch yesterday. The "misc" was at the bottom of the four foot square box, it's a camouflage screen support system, without the camouflage screen, don't ask because right now I don't know what I'm going to do with it. LoL LoL Maybe this means I'm suppose to buy another load of "Surplus" !?!?!?! What one of the courier had described to me as maybe "canvas pants" are actually part of a tent, just like a pup tent half, except it has snaps at the bottom where it would meet the ground, strange. We erected a pup tent and took an actual picture of Sgt.. Big Stuff (a.k.a. Mr Big Stuff) coming out of it. I hope you get a good laugh out of this!!!

Have a wonderful day!!!!

All is well here!! Shiloh, the last of Miss Ellie's puppies, is to be picked up today. It has just about turned winter on us so it's a good thing, my tents are beginning to arrive. I borrowed a truck and drove to Memphis on Thursday to get the first 800 lbs, I can't imagine 50 pup tents weighing 800 lbs. When we got home it was too dark to open the box and it has been raining ever since. I'm anxious to dig into the box and to see what else was sent. I've asked all who have touched it but no one has the true answer, most all responded with "just says misc" but one guy ventured to guess, "looks like canvas pants". It's a good thing I love a mystery.

Goodness Gracious!!!!! Halloween just brought out the worst of GOBLINS!!!

I've had a covert obscene telephone call, the man wanted to discuss the details of breeding a little too in depth. An e-mail SNIPER berated me for everything imaginable and accused me of raising Bullies for all the wrong reasons. I have received numerous calls and e-mails from people begging me for a "FREE" Bully Puppy for a number of reasons: dying family member (4 of these), being a cancer survivor(2), recently divorced (2), so they could go on living (1), because they were a minority (1), being a student(2), would never be able to afford one (1), plus a disabled person obsessed with getting a Bully to train as a service dog although I tried to tell them Bullies weren't that smart. Actually, I resorted to simple words like "A bully is too stupid to be a Disabled Person's Service Dog". I can't imagine a Bully fetching articles for someone who couldn't do it for themselves, mine want me to do the fetching. Ooops, maybe they really are SMART!!! Afterward I receive 3 ugly e-mails from this person before I blocked their messages. Also,a couple of people that I "Declined to Sell A Pup" have sent me Hate E-mail and posted ugly things on Chat Boards, which only confirmed that my decision was correct. Then there was the woman who cried while begging me to ship a puppy to California. When I resorted to firmly telling her that we would not ship under any circumstances and we did not have available puppies, she accused me of denying her 2 yr old son the dog of his dreams and swore she was going to tell him when he was older?!?!

We have an average of 400 visitors per day to the website so we're bound to hear from all types of people, from wonderful to nasty. But it so sad that some people are so unhappy!!! We now have Caller ID so I can avoid the known Goblins and I've decided it's best not to respond to some e-mails!!

Please be assured that the Bullies and I are still doing the "Bully Butt Wiggle Dance" to Golden Oldies and not crying over spilled milk!! They like it when I spill milk!!

Judy

PS We still don't know where we're going to store all those tents and I'm not telling anyone, except Mona, how much it cost to have them shipped here!!!

Saturday - 11/09/02 - 10:00 AM

We've been very busy!!! I've been on the road a good portion of the last two days. Wednesday there was a trip to Ft Campbell, KY (8 hours) to pick up some things I bought - 2 latrine screens, don't ask we haven't taken them out of the box yet but I'm hoping they are plain canvas 55 feet by 5 1/2 feet. If so, they will be big enough to go a long way in covering the Potty Pens. I also bought 6 sleeping bags intending to make dog beds out of them. Bob read the label and started laughing!!! He's sure one morning we would awake to feathers everywhere since they are "fowl down" filled. We needed the break and we love to just drive so it was a wonderful "get away" from our 24/7 job of taking care of "Our Gang".

I've got my eye on a 4 foot square carton of used sheets in Alabama, 8 hr round trip. I buy sheets at yard sales to use for dog beds usually for $1 each so I thought I would just bid on them. That size carton should hold several hundred..... Bob just wants to know where we're going to store them. All the Bullies get a fresh bed every day and the "stray who've come to stay" get their bed changed weekly, or as needed. I keep 2 washers and a dryer going full time, especially when we have puppies, plus the clothes lines are usually full in good weather.

On Friday, I met 2 groups of people in Fulton, KY (7 hr round trip) so they could get their puppies, Savannah & Bolivar. I went alone because we didn't get up in time to adequately take care of "our gang" by our scheduled departure time. I told Bob to quit rushing, I would just go alone. Unfortunately in my haste, I forgot the camera.

On the way back home, I stopped in Jackson, TN to pick up some things we had to have. In at attempt to "physic myself up" I had a Classic Rock N Roll radio station turned up high as I drove down the highway. Just as I pulled in to a parking space at Wal-Mart, the song "Old Time Rock N Roll", started playing. Now if that song can't get my blood to flowing, I'm dead. Sitting there intent on the song,I glanced in the rear view mirror and saw 2 people walking too fast out of Wal-Mart. Because they had interrupted my song I was annoyed and paid special attention to their activities. Just as I started into the store, 3 lean muscular males, evidently Wal-Mart security, emerged looking for something or somebody. I asked if they were looking for two men they said yes and I told them where they had gone. They caught their men and I came home, too tired to have let it phased me one way or the other.

Life is never dull!!!!

Puppy Pick Up Party At PuppyGal's Click Here!!

Wednesday - 10/30/02 - 11:00 AM

We have outside "potty runs" that need tarps overhead and on the sides to give shelter from the rain and block the winter wind or the Bullies won't do "their business", they are too anxious to get back inside. That, plus on a farm tarps come in handy for lots of reasons. Cheap plastic tarps get ripped too easily by the high winds in our location and the few canvas ones we been using have seen their better days. So I started searching for inexpensive canvas tarps and found there is no such thing! But I'm resourceful... We now have 236 tarps BUT ....I got them at a really good price! That's exactly what I told Bob right after I bought that truck load of Government Surplus Half Shelter Tents. The only problem is, we only needed the 36. What am I going to do with the other 200? If you snap two together they make a Pup Tent so now we're down to having 100 extra Pup Tents. I'm getting there!!

Are you old enough to remember the "Lucille Ball & Desi Arnaz Show"? Well,..... Just Call Me Lucy!!!

Bob is off to the Vet's to have Happy bred. He said on the way back he was stopping at the new Wal-Mart to get a stencil and black ink so he can put "PuppyGal's Pup Tent" on all the tents. LoL That was his parting remark before he made a quick exit out the door. I told him if Dr Frank call me "Lucy" the next time I was in there that he (Bob) was in trouble.

I told him to get busy on a website and as soon as we got one of the tents we could set it up and take a picture with Mr Big Stuff inside, looking out!!! Wouldn't that be cute!! I'm off here and moving fast, got to start on the website to sell Pup Tents because I sure don't know where I'm going to put them when they arrive!!!

Actually, we're having a ball laughing over the situation and trying to come up with a creative solution!! If you are wondering why I would tell the world what a "Lucy thing" I've done, it's to make you laugh!!

Friday - 10/11/02 - 11:30 AM

You know it's going to be a special day when you glance out the window and see Deer (4 Bucks, one with a 6 point rack)peacefully grazing 20 feet from your front porch. We've had heavy rain and high winds for the past few days so we think maybe nuts and seeds were knocked to the ground, either that or Deer eat mushrooms, which are abundant. We've never had the opportunity before to observe them at such a close range for so long a period of time. It lightened our hearts!!!
