Puppy Gal's Opinion On

Toys For English Bulldogs

Jeb's Taxi

The type of toy depends upon your Bully and it's chewing tendencies, but even for the most tenacious chewer there is a toy!!!

Here we have Jeb with his heavy duty Taxi. He has had this toy for 2 years but he doesn't have it with him full time. He has others..... He never tries to destroy his cars and trucks, but watch out stuffed animal, especially if the covering is 'hairy', he loves hairy!!

Stuffed Toys

Washable Stuffed Toys with nothing to pull off and swallow make great toys and most Bullies sleep on them, suck on them and carry them around until they fall apart. Occasionally, there is one who will immediately destroy it for whatever reason. These Bullies need one of the following.

Fisher-Price Toys

Fisher-Price toys are great for Bullies, since they are 'almost' indestructible.I always shop yard sales for them, then clean them good with a 10% clorox solution or alcohol bath, be sure to rinse.

Bones

For 30 years I have given my dogs and puppies bones for their entertainment, plus teeth and muscle development. I do NOT however give them bones that are small enough to eat, only big bones such as beef thigh (femur) which have had the ends or knuckles removed by the butcher. I bake all bones in the oven for about 3 hours at 300 degrees to cook the morrow and whatever matter is attached.

The vet who wrote the article on this website advocates giving bones also but is against cooking them, in this area we disagree. http://www.showdogsupersite.com/kenlclub/breedvet/dogdiets.html

PVC Pipe Fittings

PVC Schedule 40 fittings, 4 inch size are tough!! When the plumber left a pice of pipe with a fitting attached laying in the yard. we learned what a great toy it is for Bullies. PepperJack scooped it up and had the best time, throwing it in the air pounching on it and teasing the other Bullies with it. He kept it by his side for months, then one way he decided he didn't want it any longer.

Do NOT Give - Rawhide Products of Any Kind - Do Not Give!!
