Hardeman Co. Animal Control Sunday - February 7, 2010 11:30 PM ![]() Judy M. CookseyNovember 29, 1946 - February 8, 2010Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together… Judy has reached the time to cross the Rainbow Bridge with the many pets that are waiting just for her... There will be such joy! Here are the details: Soon after we met and fell in love, I asked her to get a chest X-ray because she smoked. There was a health caravan giving $10 certificates for just that X-ray. That's when they discovered a Carcinoid tumor in her left lung. She had it removed along with part of her lung. Twenty two years after the operation, the Carcinoid Syndrome returned damaging her liver. She is fading fast and is unable to talk. In my discussions with the doctors, the viability of a liver transplant was ruled out because of the pervasive nature of this Carcinoid Syndrome. Judy means the world to me and I honestly don't know what I'm going to do without her happy smile and constant companionship. I feel so empty without her -- Bob P.S. Thank you all for your Emails and phone messages and especially the prayers. Support Your Local Rescue Groups It's that time of year when critters need tender loving care, please call your local Rescue Group and ask if they need bedding, toys or newspapers for their rescues. Rescued critters don't care if the sheets have stains, a small hole or the elastic has stretched out of the "fitted" type, old blankets or bedspreads are good as well as garments with lots of thick material which can be cut into bedding, i.e. outgrown fleece jackets. Old soft mismatched towels and wash cloths are always appreciated and I'm sure they use tons of old newspapers to line the crates, especially with small pets. Old t-shirts and sweatshirts are a welcome sight for most rescuers. Small pets and puppies love to snuggle with stuffed animal toys. If they have parts which can be pulled off be sure to remove them (usually eyes and noses) and put a stitch or two to close the hole. This is a great way to teach your children the spirit of giving and get your closets cleaned at the same time. Maybe the rescue group will allow you to have a party for the critters. If so make plenty of homemade doggie treats. I don't know about kitty treats, mine get a heaping table spoon of tuna as a treat. Tie knots in old socks which are missing a mate or have a hole, maybe add a little cat nip (better ask the rescuers about this one). Last but not least, drop some change in the donation bucket. - The Truth About English Bulldogs - Bully Pups With Young Children or Small Pets English Bulldog Photo Posting Pages - your opportunity! Just what is an English Bulldog?Bulldogs are the clowns of the canine world! And a bulldog puppy is a bunch of smiles rolled up in an ill fitting fur coat. Our bulldogs do not drool as much as some people think. And when our adult bulldogs pass gas, they look at us, shake their heads slowly, and say "You did that!" And you should know that a bulldog can 'kick' you out of bed when they dream... And a bulldog can snore very loud! When there are more than three bulldogs asleep in one room, it's louder than a freight train! If you ever wanted a pet that was the center of attention when you went walking and would watch TV with you, the right choice is a bulldog puppy! |
